I'm going to assemble a team of roughly 12 dedicated players, who have dreams of becoming a better gamers.
Just so I can make something clear, I'm making a TEAM. NOT a clan. And please don't tell me crap like a team has to have a sponsor to be called a team because that isn't true.
If anyone is interested please let me know via PM or at my email, stinger_rydh@yahoo.com
Just one little note, please make sure you are around the MY/SGT/AU timezone because we won't be on all night.
Well good luck man, do you have any idea what level of players you are looking for, where you are at and where you want to be?
For now preferbly around Diamond and higher. But if you are Bronze and want to get to masters and can improve fast then sure why not.

Exactly. We will be competing in tournaments under the same name, just we won't have a sponsor, for now. This instead of a huge clan is simply because it means less management since it's smaller. Also we can focus more on individual players rather than a whole clan that could have like 30 members.
Also thank you guys for being so pleasant
But uh, less luck, more players !!
I think you just defined a "clan" or a "practice group" and not a team... What's the incentive of being in your team? You need to offer something that other teams can't offer to be able to get them to apply.
Yeah personally I think a "Team" are guys who will go to LANs etc together / compete as a tight group against other "teams" i.e. the arcMSI & xGKing guys. Naturally I also think Teams are usually sponsored.
To be honest I completely agree with Dicklu above me - you are describing more of a Clan or Practice Group. Unsponsored, and just supporting eachother to become better players. A team does the same, except would be competing in tournaments together under the same name.
Its really on the line of semantics haha. Regardless, good luck. I think you shouldnt get too hung up on what you are i.e. a clan/team/practice group. How about you just say you are looking for a "Group" of no more than 12 players haha

Dooo dooo dodo!
Instead of just recruiting aimlessly and asking people to send you emails, why dont u let us know abit more about urself and ur team/clan?
Yes sir, but I don't have much time to do stuff. And I can't make a website yet because I'm not in charge of that and the person in charge will only do it when we have a solid 6 members or whatever. Which I feel is far because many clans just start with with a website, get 30 members and then die over time. I don't want anything like that. As for goals I shall edit my post when I got the time. Thank you good sir for the advice

I mean, like Americans are on when we sleep, and only the ones who stay up late at night are the ones we see. So for our timezone, we'd want to have you on during the day instead of at night when the Americans are on.
I appreciate all the help but really, if you just leave all of that to me and just let the thread serve it's purpose, to find players, you will all understand later on.
And for the last time, I'm making a team, not a clan.

Hate to break it to you but managing a clan and being a good leader does require alot of time, simple stuff such as making the OP much more detailed should be a given. And if you don't have the time would recommend joining a clan instead if not your whole clan will suffer with an inactive leader, and well joining a clan is just as cool too
As NirvAnA said, creating a clan takes a lot of time and dedication.
The blog of Meatex is also describing what it takes to be a clan leader.
The first step to create a clan is to get a precise idea of what you want to it to be. For example, if you want to make a competitive clan, then just recruit masters/grandmasters. But you need something to attract competitive gamers: good team members so they can train with, sponsoring, LAN coverage, etc..
If you want to make a more casual clan, then you need to develop it in a way so people will be happy to join this clan instead of another.
The second step is to get a communication platform, a clan without internet site/teamspeak channel, will not have a proper communication, and it will lose all the spirit of making a team/clan. You should really take time to make a site, because players won't join a "ghost" team.
What is also very important, is to get a irl friend to work on this project with you, it's a lot harder to make things alone. If you spend a lot of time on the website you won't have spare time to advertise, speak with players, etc...
So i think what you need to do first is to:
1. Find a friend who will help you in your project
2. Define the purpose of your team/clan
3. Give a name to your team so people will remember it
4. Make a advertisement platform = internet site/clan page
5. Look for members that will help you to make the clan grow
6. Look for players.
These are just examples of course, but it shows in my opinion the strict minimum that you need to do to develop a team/clan.
And a last thing, always remember that if you become a clan leader, you cannot hope on anyone to do the job for you, so you'll be extremely busy and won't have time to play (that's my personal excuse for being bad at sc2).
