I don't know what it is about this season, maybe I'm just a horrible Diamond zerg player, but I've been vsing some supposed 'gold' and 'platinum' league players and have just been totally stomped. Are players intentionally losing to get back into the lower leagues? I'm sure it wasn't like this in the previous seasons.
I've uploaded some replays - maybe I made some massive errors that cost me the game? Or are these people really just trolling the lower leagues for their own amusement?
The protoss was mid-platinum and the terran was high rank gold.
I cant tell if it's because I'm shit but me being in platinum have been rolled by silver/gold players a lot recently in season 4 /end of season 3

It could also be because of the ladder lock at the end of the season. You can have a really high MMR but not get promoted in the last week or two of a season.
If it's just one game probably just someone playing on their friends account. I beat a Plat kid the other day but it took everything I had, check his match history with 10 straight wins in a row and he messages me after saying he's masters on NA.
If it's more than one game then your MMR is probably getting low as you're not winning enough

Lose 1 ladder point, but still very disheartening.
Surely the practise is worth it though. I would play 20+ ladder games vs GM players even if I was guaranteed to lose every one just for the replays and the experience.
