Be a Human , or be a mutant ?

Hey there , noob question here..
I'm so confuse atm for which race i have to choose between zerg and terran ?
That's why i start this thread and would love to ask fellow pro players and senior players :
1. What is the requirement to be a good terran player ?
2. What is the requirement to be a good zerg player ?
3. Are there any specific skill i have to acquire to play either race ?

Please do show me the way fellow starcraft 2 players.

Cheers

If you're still at the stage of figuring out your playstyle and which race fits into it then don't worry... play a bit of all three and don't stress about it yet.. over time you'll form a preference.

thats very solid advice from zealo. that way u learn a bit about every race and u can also decide which style suits you the best.

by then u would know a little on how to counter certain units each race has etc.

Difference between zerg and terran is pretty big. A zerg player typically has to have good decision making, knowing when to drone up and when to save larvae etc.
Terrans have it slightly easier... terrans probably needs better multi tasking. all in all, you should play what you are comfortable with.

As the old saying goes, Zerg is reactionary and you must react to your opponent. You cannot blindy follow one build and expect to win. While you can delay using mobile units, you must use your mobility and production speed to correctly 'counter' the opponent's play.
Essentially, Terran is more proactive (whilst still changing to the opponent) whilst Zerg revolves heavily around delaying the opponent and reacting accordingly to tech switches.

Terran is arguably easier to start off with, as the mechanics are more linear and consistent. With Terran, executing a build well will win games, but with Zerg, builds are not enough. One must scout frequently and react according to what they see, for example unit composition of the opponent. Like many said above I suggest playing all three races and seeing how they are.

Just choose either one and go with it.

Going random is a double-edged sword. It might be good to learn basics and give you an idea, but it gives no insight of depth. I personally believe this is why Random players right up to Masters seem to Always cheese.

Rambling aside, I think you should just choose one of the races and then get reading into build orders / watch some replays to understand things. Both races have elements of ease, and both have elements of difficulty in comparison to one another.
Terran need to make decisions based on their scouting just as much as Zerg. Although, Zerg may need to do this a little more - especially in the early game (Debatable though).

Macro wise, in my opinion its harder to be an effective spender with terran, whilst its harder to be an effective energy-user with Zerg. I.e, zerg can just chuck down a macro hatch and spend easily in one big go with larvae - whereas Terran needs to have the facilities built, and continually be producing units. However, Zerg Must keep on top of their energy use (injects), whereas Terran can easily chuck down mules if their energy exceeds minimum, and they basically get the advantage of their +300 minerals regardless.

Microwise, (This is getting Seriously general!) Zerg can a+move, Terran you need to split marines and stim / drop effectively. Ahah wow thats a general statement and not 100% accurate at all, but it will do for now :P

TL;DR: Just choose one. Dont go random. Get reading and watching and learning and Then doing. The League system is a fantastic reflection of your improvement too.
glhf!

It is said that latency affects terran more than zerg ya ? In my place , sometimes internet can went down in the middle of the match.
Even my best internet latency would be 0.5 sec delay.

The only thing I don't agree on is the a-moving. :P (but you already addressed that lol)

As random you don't learn how to defend a lot of the early race specific timing attacks.
When I random and was Zerg? It was heaven. Then when I used Zerg as my main race?
'HOLY SHIT WHAT ARE THEY DOING THIS HURTS GO AWAY OMG NOOOOOOOOO'

Latency kills any race =[
I'm not actually sure which race would suffer less with higher latency.
Just pick any race you like the most, whatever skillset is required you WILL learn :P

Neither, choose the aliens - Protoss

1) They have the coolest spellcasters
2) Versatile uses of units

I played random during the beta and found that Terran was my favourite followed by Protoss then Zerg. I would recommend playing random and see which feels the 'best' for you and your style of play.

My advice amongst all these pros? Play a couple of games with a standard build with a couple of buddies or take it on to the ladder if you're feeling gutsy.

5-10 games later (total of max 30 games if you decide to test all 3 races) you should have a clue to which race you wanna join.

Hope to see you on the side of the Dominion if not on Raynor's side !!
