I can tell you from experience DO NOT half arse your choice of case.
It may seem like something you don't need to think much about but when you get a cheap case its makes it very hard to seat your motherboard not to mention it will be messy
Also don't skimp on PSU especially if you want to get 2 vid cards for SLI
personally I would recommend 1 better video card then you can add another later should you need it and it will be so much cheaper

Hehe, I figured this would be the case (no pun intended), which is why I've put a bit of extra budget in for the Case & PSU. Anyone got any recommendations. When I mentioned I didn't need anything fancy, it was more along the lines of I don't need to be able to see the innards of my computer, and it doesn't need a tonne of lights.

I'm not sure what I think of the get 1 better video card and then add another later argument. It's one of those good in theory, not sure about in practice.
