TLS Red Carpet Gaming is proud to announce the Starcraft II Melbourne World Cyber Games Qualifiers at iBisQ!

The qualifiers will commence on Saturday the 27th of August at iBisQ, with registrations opening at 10:00AM, and the tournament kicking off at 10:30AM.

Tournament registration will cost $30.00, and is open to all participants over the age of 15 years. Note that participants must use their own valid SEA StarCraft 2 Accounts.

The top 3 players will receive a qualifying spot and flights/accommodation to the WCG Australian Grand Final, October 15th - 16th at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Additional prizes will be announced later this week, with lucky door prizes also being given away.

Morning All,

Currently I can only confirm a single spot, however I am trying to work the magic with tls team to see if we can get more ... We where trying to confirm the mimimum requirements so we could at least announce the event, now its time for us to see what we can do.

Personally I would like to see at least top two if not three from Melbourne come to the WCG Nationals in October, but I need to get confirmation that its possible before i commit to it, thus the OP mentions only a single ticket at this stage.

I'll do my best to keep you all up to date!

Hey Everyone,

I am VERY pleased to be able to announce that after some discussions internally with tls, it has been decided that its a bit rough to only hand out a single spot in the nationals for the potential volume of people coming to Melbourne qualifier.

So its been decided that to make it fair ... we will be providing flights and accomodation for 1st 2nd & 3rd place at this weekends qualifing tournament in Melbourne.

Sorry for the ultra delay in getting this announcement out, however the discussions and decision was only made today

Thats good to hear, any word on the prizes that were to be confirmed are?(since we're now around 2 1/2 days away from the event)

Also an ETA on Sydney prizes? although it isnt your fault I still have people contacting me about them... (even though i have nothing to do with it)

EDIT: also WCG Brisbane, is it still the 3rd/4th? it says that on the wcg site but i remember rcg dropping the date a little over a week ago (the rcg site is currently down) because id need to book to tickets like last week if it is...

Just get to Bridge Rd from wherever you are in Melbourne and work your way down until it turns into Burwood Rd and it's just off Burwood Rd. It's pretty easy if you've been around the Hawthorn area a few times.

Gezza i suggest you check our the WCG FAQ Dox wrote up a while back for map pool

Prizes for Melb, unfortunately the best i have been able to do is a few headsets so i'll be bringing them down and presenting them more like lucky door prizes

I was informed as recent as yesterday arvo by the team that placed 3rd in the cs 1.6 tournament that theyd hadnt received the cash portion, ask me why etc why not prizes etc etc eh suppose you're getting the same thing too, good idea having the prizes there on the day for Melbourne guess you guys learnt your lesson lol

Thanks for the email ill pass it along next time im asked, I dont handle it via proxy i say "I dunno we were just the venue, youll have to contact them" of course the contact most ppl have for tls no longer works there so it made it hard, I just like an ETA or a solution mostly so I actually have an answer for them and dotn feel like a douche for passing the buck.

Anyway hope Brisbane gets announced soon, good luck with Melbourne despite the late notice im sure plenty of locals will come on down for the day to get stomped by Deth and TargA
