so.. can non-australians participate in the qualifier and qualify for the national event?
and for the people using me as an example.. if people in melbourne cant beat me they will have no chance at all of qualifying for korea.. same goes for the national event.
edit:
I assume there will be lower bracket at both events anyways.
edit 2: u can also participate in the norwegian qualifier, there's about 5k$ up for grabs : ) gogo scarecrow and dippa

That's not stopping you from 2base zerg imba gaying someone out of a deserving spot though.

Definitely, and the points about having an offline event to qualify for a major offline tournament is very valid. For example, you wouldn't have a team tournament where teams submit a lineup of 5 individual players who play bo3 like in the Nation Wars, and then for the semi-finals do GSTL all-kill format it just wouldn't make sense. The teams that get to the semis have proven themselves with one format and one format only.
Also the issues about smurfing raised are valid. If the prizes are significant it would be relatively easy for someone to smurf and go 50/50 with the prize.

that's irrelevant. if you can't represent australia at the final event, you shouldn't be allowed to knock out people who can. skill doesn't come into it and the same logic should apply to say, glade or tgun, playing in the norwegian qualifier.
