Date: July 30, 2011 - 10am opening/warmup/setting up etc, midday start time. You're more than welcome to come before hand to get some extra practice in, I'll be there from early in the morning. Location: Arena Internet Cafe, 264-268 Rundle Street, Adelaide SA 5000 (in between Al Fresco and Piatto)
Entry fee: $15 (spectating is free of course)
The tournament will be played on the South East Asia (SEA) server.
The tournament will be a double elimination bracket, with all matches being Best of 3 and the Grand Final being Best of 5.
The map pool will be: Xel'Naga Caverns, Shakuras Plateau, Terminus SE, Metalopolis, Tal'Darim Altar LE (All ESL version, type "ESL" into Create Game search bar to find)
Each player will veto one map each, and will then pick from the remaining maps for the starting map. The loser picks the next map from the two remaining.
Prizes
1st place: $100
2nd place: $50
Giveaway prizes (as portions of people are eliminated we will raffle off these items):
1x Thermaltake Mousepad
1x Thermaltake Mouse
1x Thermaltake Headset
Registration
To register, you can do either:
A) Post in this thread with your SEA name and character code (Name.###), race/league would also be helpful
Players will be allowed to bring their own mouse, keyboard and mousepad. The computers are more than capable of running StarCraft II at it's highest settings. The monitors are very large (27"), but it may be possible to use smaller monitors if required.
There will be at least 20 PCs dedicated to running the tournament, players will need to report their results immediately once they are finished and they will be told to either pack up for someone else to use the PC or to stay to play another game. We are aiming for as little downtime as possible, so this is imperative to the smooth running of the tournament.
If you have any inquiries please post in this thread, email me at marconofrio1@gmail.com, or message me in game at FXOfrequency.299 (NA and SEA)
Also we're thinking of running a 2v2 event in the coming weeks (either the 6th of August or the 20th of August), so please let me know if you'd be interested to play in that.
Yeah, he used to spam WoW but he just quit, so it's mostly DotA and watching shitty anime now for him, haha.
Also we're contemplating running a 2v2 tournament soon as well, let me know how interested you all are for that.
Get him to man up and play sc2. Stop watching those anime porno of his.
2v2 sounds interesting. I'll need to get some practice in with HoOh then. One problem with the 2v2 tournament is the team will generally be random. My regular 2v2 partner is around 5000km away from adelaide. LOL!
Totally up for a 2v2, i have a silver friend who im getting into the game, would be a great way to get the newer people hooked imo, bring a friend along have fun, 2v2's are never as serious... or as long so could bang it out in a short time.
I think it's a great idea to host an optional 2v2 event on the day as well. I know I can bring a mate along for 2s, but not necessarily for 1s. Makes the event more suitable for all crowds

No, we'll be hosting a separate 2v2 tournament on a later date (either the 6th or 20th of August). Having two different tournaments on one day would be silly.
