need to clear some misconceptions, steelseries 7g is a black switch, not brown, its linear non tactile and non clicky.
browns are tactile and non clicky
blues are tactile and clicky
the steelseries 7g is an awesome keyboard, granted ,but switch choice is entirely up to user preference. the 7g is a massive beast (with the handrest) with a huge footprint, the filcos on the other hand, are sleek and sexy and don't take up too much table real estate, so its entire up to you to choose what you prefer and the advantage for RTS games as opposed to FPS games on the 7g isn't THAT big a difference for the switch choice
but if you're looking for an all round keyboard to suit your daily needs on top of gaming, like say you type alot of stuff, then i suggest you get a filco instead of a 7g, linear keys are abit harder to type stuff on for long term, that's my personal take.

getting some samples now, then it should be at least a few weeks once we decide on which we want. Right now we do have the option of Brown or Red switches, what do you guys think is better? Brown or Red?
I'm interested! Would you ship to NZ? I've been looking for a new keyboard for awhile. What standard keyboard will you use? I'd recommend buying a cheap one that has no gap between the # keys and the F keys, so you can easily hit the F keys while resting your fingers on 1,2,3 !
Also, do you have an estimated price? No big wrist rests on the keyboards and no chunky space bars plz!
Brown are like the "in-betweens". Blue is extremely tactile and for people who like to press their keys and really feel them, and black are like for those who like super soft keys and can just compress the key a little to make it work.
I'm a blue!!!

yes we plan to ship worldwide, or at least australasia. we do not have a price right now but it will be significantly lower than any other option (and we won't proceed unless we can make it happen.)
at the moment we will probably go with a standard sized 104 key keyboard. the cost of customizing the layout is actually pretty high so we gotta try sticking to molds that the manufacturers already have.
changing the layout will raise the price and increase the risk, like if it turns out a bunch of people love it but a bunch of guys hate it so we gotta be cautious here.
But we do want to know what you guys want in a keyboard, the no gap between the F and # keys is pretty cool but would accidental mis-types be a problem?

Actually all switches need to be compressed about the same depth to get them to work, specifically around 2mm, difference is mostly in the force required and whether there's a tactile feedback or not.
Lets try to keep this purely on what we'd like the keyboards to be like ^^;
I think a completely standard layout like the filco keyboards would be completely fine, no need for a wrist rest or fancy layout. The no gap between # and F keys would be cool I guess mis-types might be an issues though. I was thinking maybe have the F# keys just above the # keys? ie. F1 over 1, F2 over 2 etc. That has always been something that kinda bugged me.
But like I said, a completely standard layout is fine =]
Also could we have like sc2sea printed on it or something like that? xD
Along time ago IBM use to sell keyboards and these keyboards would have the F keys directly above the #1 keys. My friend who is actually an ex wc3 pro gamer in the states told me that he bought 10 of the IBM Rapid Access III keyboards right before they sold out because he knew how rare keyboards like these would become.
Actually asked him to take a picture to show you guys .
anything else about key positions? should the Esc key be ideally located above/away from the Function key row? any changes to the Ctrl key? (the Flash keyboard has to option to map the windows key to the Ctrl key)

That would be pretty awesome too ;o but usually people just rip out that windows key, so if it's more money to do I think you should just leave it .
I don't think the windows key is such a big problem nowadays, most games have an option to disable it. I would just remove it entirely as I don't think it's all that useful, but I think that'll probably cost extra cash lol
Esc key should be red imo would fit really well haha ;p
