How far back are you looking at the results? How much weight are you giving higher prize money tournaments? Are you factoring in lan results? and so forth.
For this single event, I'll be basing it on tournament prize value. So player A has won $3200 worth of events, and player B has won $1800 worth, blah blah blah. It'll be fairly estimated for this event only. As I said in the OP, I'll be introducing a points system to manage future seeding. I'm honestly only doing this to encourage more people to play, as it's demoralising to open up the bracket and see yourself against X, Y or Z in round 1. I've already started compiling a spreadsheet of tournament results and average value, so I'm not phased by the task.

What if you establish and publish a big list of seeds down to like 32nd so we can see who would be where, and make that final? That way even though the actual rankings may be no more accurate than the prizemoney method there is maximum transparency and it gives some of the top seeds motivation to sign up! You could talk to peers about any specific ranks that are tricky to make a call on.
Also it will be fun to follow the brackets and work out who the seeds will be

I wasn't planning on making a list so deep considering I'm only basing one event on such a system, but I also had no intentions of hiding the list from anyone. It was more of a side project I was doing in my spare time to determine who ranks where in terms of winnings, and I figured I might as well use it for this.

If you ask her nicely, she might let some other people co-cast with her for the first half of the tournament! Once we reach the last few rounds of the tournament and my administrative tasks are dwindling, I'll be joining her to commentate.

I work a LOT of long hours and as such, don't have enough time to be a strong competitor. So I give to the community in other ways.

Reason: I finally decided to go along with Zerg. I was Zerg in Brood War and I toyed with Terran and Zerg in SC2.
