To everyone who may be interested;

I am going to be documenting EVERY day that I play in my quest to reach grandmaster league. Basically, my current goal in SC2 is to be promoted from where I am now in Platinum league, to Grandmaster League. this could take a while however, so prepare for a graphic novel. I will be writing up each days adventures in Microsoft Word, with the end of each 'phase' (when I get promoted up each league) I will post that section of my progress. In each writeup, I will include things such as mindset, current goals, win-loss ratio, outside influences (school, work, authority figures etc.), match-up problems, ideas on how to improve, problems as to why i'm losing.

Of course, I will only be doing this if there is an appropriate reception in the community for such a thing, as it will motivate me to write each section. If there is more information that you would like me to discuss in the writeups, let me know and I will include it.

Any other criticisms or words of wisdom are much appreciated. Some replays may also be included in this writeup to show improvement. The writeup could potentially be a learning tool for many players, as styles of play, replays and tactics will be compared across all league levels.

it's a good idea but the main problem as aean said is the time. In the time it will take you to write the whole thing up you could have practiced more ans gotten better, but it's good initiative to be willing to take the time to do this

Well writing up about his games can also help him improve.. watching and reflecting on replays helps you learn from your mistakes.. while writing them out can help set them in concrete.. I love the idea and look forward to reading.. (if you go through with it) :]

The best way to learn is to teach. Explaining the reasoning behind his decisions to a third party will give him some incredibly handy insight into his gameplay.

Community benefit (and a sizeable one at that) aside, getting from Platinum to Grand Master requires more than just improving your mechanics; you need to improve your understanding. What Paroxysm is doing is a great way to achieve that.

Pretty sure I saw an Archon rush on TLO's charity stream when he laddered ag Zerg (he used Random)

Anyway on topic, it's a great idea but needs alot of dedication. I can speak from personal experience, it eats up ALOT of time then could have been utilized practising more games.

For example, an average article for me takes about 2-4 hours to write. The longest I've spent was about 5 hours, which was the first one in my Road to Masters series that involved 11 games or something

Sure, I like this idea ^_^ I'm doing something similar, although it is much much more general and compact as it is just me blogging every week or so about progress.

Reading about the thought processes of someone like-minded is always a good read, so go for it :3
