Wow, its has a tournament here? mini tournament and play in custom games?
We have lots of Tournaments. If you are using starter edition, then you should be able to play...because yes, people use custom games to play in tournaments.

I'm still in baby phase of learning SC2 (still plinking with very-easy AI) but I like watching pro games (to the point of pulling all-nighters watching GSL/NSSL/PL live).
Baking cute cookies is my new hobby, and some of you may have seen photos of said cookies in various places of the interwebs.
I can also help with the JP/EN interpreting and/or correspondence translation if needed, feel free to PM here or tweet (at)baratie (or if you're phil, poke me on CranK's stream) if there is such a need.
Not too familiar with the SEA scene yet, hope to get to know y'alls this year
Hi, I'm from Vic, 21 yo, currently studying a BSc at the University of Melbourne.
I'm completely new to SC2, kinda got dragged into it by Crescendo (another member of this community). I play protoss and I'm currently in silver league on NA, been playing for about 2 months. Looking forward to getting more involved with this community as I improve at the game (hopefully).
Hi all, been playing SC2 for sometime since WoL, and HoTS has been really fun. From Singapore and hoping to find some Singaporean players to practice 1 v 1 with as well as overseas players too. Haven't played any team games on the ladder, but that should change soon.
Wondering what I need to do to get from Gold to Plat, and then all the way to Master. I'm guessing its a lot of practice, scouting and solid build orders. Yet, nothing helps more than having some friends to give some pointers when you lose games. Looking forward to sparring with anyone soon.

Welcome man! I hope you enjoy your stay in this little slice of the internet.
There are quite a few Singaporean players around the place, as well as a lot of other SEA players~ If looking for prac partners, hit up the chatbox on the main page of the site.
As for getting out of and jumping up to .. it'll come down to picking only a couple of builds that really interest you, perfecting them, and practicing them enough that it becomes second nature.
