The 16 highest seeded players leading into ACL Sydney, based on yearly ACL Points, will be pre-seeded into the Group Stage. Group Stage consists of 4 Groups of 6 players. All Open Players will participate in the Open Bracket, which will consist of multiple Double Elimination brackets. The top players from each Double Elimination Bracket will progress to Group Stage. In Group Stage all players from each group will play against every competitor in their group. The top players from each group will progress to the Championship Bracket. Further information on the Championship Bracket will be released shortly. The top 8 placing players in the Championship Bracket will receive prize money.
Entry Fees:
$55 per person for Group Stage.
$30 per person for Open Bracket.
The top 8 players that progress from the Open Bracket to Group Stage must pay an additional $25 at the time of their progression.

Pro players have until 11:59PM AEST Sunday 29th June to confirm their attendance to secure a group seed. Should players confirm after this date they will start from the open bracket. You can see who has registered and who has confirmed in the original post. You will not be considered confirmed unless you have registered so while telling me you are coming is great you must fill out a registration form.
Just to give some clarification. PRO REGISTRATION closes tomorrow night but registration for open bracket will stay open until the day of the tournament. Anybody who registers for pro registration and doesn't make the groups will have their registration transferred to open bracket so there will be no need to sign up again.
Pro Pool Seeding will be revealed on Wednesday July 2nd at 8PM AEST. I will be joined by Maynarde and selected pros to provide thoughts and insights. Join us at www.twitch.tv/aclprosc2!
iaguz just boarded a plane back to Sydney to pick up his paycheck, just thought i'd let you know so you can write his name on it now and save yourself some time on the day
the new ladder maps are honestly terrible imo, and i'm surprised ACL is going to use them when the season just started yesterday.. and ACL is in a weeks time..

who said anything about forcing? for such a big tournament i wouldn't expect maps to be used 1 week in advance when the season just started 1 or 2 days ago.. it'll make more sense using maps people are more familiar with and use the new maps later when people are more comfortable with them

If you make it to challenger, you'll be playing your WCS challenger series likely a week after ACL Sydney which uses the new map pool. We have always communicated we would follow WCS America's official map pool at the time of the competition and this is it.

Regardless, every player has vetos and everyone is equally disadvantaged. I think this is by far the most reasonable decision.
Many of you will be glad to hear we have allocated the best production resources (of all games on offer at ACL) to StarCraft II however we need additional camera operators to make it all work. If you, or you know of somebody, who has experience operating cameras and would like an opportunity to showcase their talent at a major event, please email me at brad@vimme.com.au or alternatively add me on Skype "bradley_baldwin" as soon as possible. We will provide a complimentary generic 2014 ACL hoodie as a thank you for your services.
Does anyone have any news about what sort of Hearthstone events will be happening here?
There will be times throughout the weekend where specific pre-set events will take place like community vs Blizzard or perhaps a mini tournament (nothing explicitly disclosed) however the majority of the time will just be come and play and hang out with Blizzard employees and win some Hearthstone loot. If you bring your iPad you can even get a new trading card backing by doing the local network connection if you haven't done so already.
There will be a pretty cool area dedicated to Hearthstone and Blizzard have created a pretty special area for it so if nothing else it will be something to lay your eyes on!

Sadly Crimson has had to pull out of ACL. Even though he organised his Passport months ago, its still not arrived and sadly they won't let him on a plane :'(

For anybody wondering, Phoenix - who was next in line for a pro seed - has taken Crimson's place in his group.
It sucks i wont be able to go to ACL Sydney due to a massive function at work. If i was able to come down i would totally Help anyway i can with the production, Casting to interviews what ever !!! Will see you guys at all of next years ACL's
Hey guys same deal as other events if anybody can give a lending hand over the next two events for setup that would be most appreciated. We will be on site from 10am today until 8pm tonight and 10am tomorrow until 10pm tomorrow.
Please PM me or Skype me "bradley_baldwin" if you are available to assist at any point during this time and I will provide you with my contact number. We can then discuss what you would be doing should you come down and go from there!
This is our biggest ACL so far so there is a lot of work to do. It's a great opportunity to show the strength of the StarCraft community by banding together to make this event happen (plus you kind of get to see the stage in advance)
I had filled out a volunteer form sometime ago, but i haven't received any response.
If their was some notification 1-2 weeks before hand i would have been able to put in leave at work to
give you guys a hand.
