Basically, AEST is the standard, but we're currently in daylight savings (AEDT) so our clocks go forward an hour. You can see the current standard Australian time (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra) in the top right of this website.

You said 5pm SGT so that would mean 7pm AEST which means 8pm AEDT so for us it starts at 8pm. Make sense?
