hi, i tried contacting the staff, but didn't get much help.
anyway, i'm thinking about putting together a new PC just to compete in SC2. now, my question was if it'd be possible to receive some kind of certificate or even just a piece of paper saying i won or competed in a tournament on here. i'm not really interested in the money, but something saying i was here and actually competed would be great.
before i spend a lot of money on a new PC i want to make sure.
umm have you ever played a sport outside of esports? all sports give you some kind of trophy when you win a competition.
This isnt sports, its esports. Noone in esports ever recieves a certificate and those that get trophies are those that win significantly larger tournaments (10,000+ Prizepool).

and why can't esports have their own certificate/trophys? it'll definitely be useful in your career be it as a pro-gamer or joining a gaming related company such as razer/steelseries/intel/gom or what have you.

I don't even understand why this is even an argument. Its a shit idea, end of discussion.

A certificate for winning a small scale online gaming tournament is going to be worth jack all for getting a part-time job at a computer store or LAN cafe, let alone pursuing fulltime careers in the gaming industry. The only worth they might have would be personal worth, and I doubt there are many gamers out there interested in receiving a certificate.
Welcome to the site juggernaught, and sorry for the less than warm reception :/

wow, i didnt think of that. good idea.
i was thinking of having something tangible and something to say i competed. not an expensive trophy or anything like that.

yah, i was just looking for a personal 'memento' of me competing in a tourny. i wasn't looking for something to put on my CV.
i wasn't thinking of getting some big trophy with a metal dycast shaped out of jim raynor or anything,
just a piece of paper i could frame and keep next to my sport trophies.

i understand, man. what if someone created the 'award' in MS Word and then just asked the recipient to print it out. that way the recipient could print it if they want it and you don't need to spend anything with shipping/delivery.
i've been around online gaming a long time now so it was just an idea i had.
