To add to my point on skill level, if you actually had players at a high skill level then they would end up competing with each other at tournaments, since Australia isn't very big in terms of talent. They would actually not practice together and just ladder instead which would make the teamhouse rather pointless.

Also: I don't think diamond players etc understand how much #dedication is required to become a "pro". I know I was diamond when I made the decision that I wanted to go pro and that was 2 years back, I still don't feel accomplished either. It's not like I've been slacking off, I've had to work almost full time and try to go pro as well.

I imagine if diamond players are in a teamhouse more than 50% of them will give up after reaching the realization that you can't just solemnly put hours into this game and expect to go pro, there are so many other factors like talent (the biggest one), momentum etc.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I think this: Teamhouses are only really realistic or effective if the area you live in has a team league. Proleague or GSTL are proof of this I think.

The key issue the OP needs to address sustainability. This can only work if there is income coming in. I think what iaguz said is a good direction and a lot more sensible.

Why not just create a house full of people who love Starcraft? Nothing wrong with that! Don't have to make the goal to be to go pro. Its far easier to make money having a side job or doing other things related to gaming like content creation or making youtube videos or casting or coaching than being an actual pro gamer. This way you can still be doing something you love but its a much more viable option. Maybe at the end of it all you can have reality TV shows and rope in sponsors and stuff.

But only so few people could pull of something like this. One would be fenner and others would be ZiggyD and PiG all these guys are already doing decently monetizing on their own with something they love. It will be like the ultimate gaming house if they got together and invited some others who do something similar. Like System, duckvillelol etc

So I think I might already be coming to a verdict a lot like iaguz initially stated. (Sorry I am terrible at putting my ideas and thoughts into text)

So let me break it down pure and simple and put it into retrospect, upon posting this earlier today, ultimately, a lot like iaguz said. I was thinking basically a house full of sc2 players, preferably with the same goal: Get good, win LANs and tournaments together and hopefully make something much bigger out of it.

I don't particularly intend on pulling in super duper high end players who are GM on Korea, Top GM NA or whatever, but close enough of a skill gap from something like low diamond to mid masters players who would be keen living under the same roof for help of analysing replays. Practising builds. But most importantly living happily together since we can be certain we all share the same interests, activities etc and enjoy each other's company.

So in short. I just want to continue my passion for starcraft and esports in general.

Have a happy house with starbros, is the most I could ask for, regardless if we get better or not, being happy is a lot more important than even winning and making it big and at the same time all hate each other, not something I want, don't want this to be the slayers team house.

Also, would this thread be worthy of a repost and just reworded, and where else could I advertise such a thing such as "Sc2/RTS enthusiast sharehouse"?.

A noble cause to live in and enjoy a house full of starbros around your level with good mindsets.

I can edit the thread title if you like my brother just say the word.

Perfect attitude man, sounds sick.

Hut just moved in to our place in Sydney so there's 4 of us sc2 fans in the house now and there aint' nothing like sipping a few beers and watching some GSL on the big tv in the living room! Even just having people to live with who enjoy the game and share interests makes for great fun!

Best of luck finding some like-minded nerds to live with!

Would you mind if you just locked this thread and I just start a new one with the new title? Because I do kind of want to reword quiet a bit after getting a bit of insight, and I feel the current discussion would be disorientating to people who haven't seen it yet, and I just want to make it a bit more inclusive, friendlier etc.

and if the thread does get locked, thanks guys for the feedback
