[Interview] NUS CGF Vengeance Cup Winner Interview

Bryan 'Flash.DrakE' Sum has been on a really impressive tear these past few weeks. His time off between National Service and University has produced a series of wins over the past few weeks. He has proven himself to be the best Terran in Singapore without a doubt. His most recent accolade was his win at the NUS Cyber Games Festival Vengeance Cup Qualifier. He took first place and $300 for his effort over the weekend. We caught up with him to discuss his recent win and what the future looks like for him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Bryan, you just won the NUS CGF Vengeance Cup a few days ago, how are you feeling?
I'm feeling great. Had a shaky day 1, but really pulled it together on day 2. Practice wise it's not been ideal, but I've been experimenting and thinking a lot more recently and I think that's reflecting much more in my play.

You have been riding quite the wave of success recently.
the NUS CGF was my third win in 3 weeks so i'm really proud of my recent results and consistency - my success was IMO long overdue :P

An improvement in mentality out of the game and also better decision making/planning with regards to builds and maps.

That's the main reason why i've been more successful now than in previous months - my actual skill level/ladder results hasn't really changed much in my opinion.

I must continue this momentum and win Vengeance Cup - it would be a huge disappointment if I'm unable to perform there.

Can you take us through your first day of CGF? You said you had trouble scraping through on the first day, but you played really well during the semi and grand finals.
Honestly speaking, I had a poor attitude going into the first day of the tournament. I actually did not expect myself to win because I didn't practice that much the week before the tournament (university camp).

In-game, I was definitely complacent and didn't show enough respect for what they were doing and just continued with my game plan without much thought. Those losses definitely brought about a change of attitude towards my opponents and the tournament and allowed me to play much better on the second day.
