PAX Australia has officially sold out for all 3 days.

For those that ended up buying tickets, let me know what days you are going, what you are looking forward to seeing (panels, booths, cosplay etc.) and whether you would be interested in a SC2SEA catchup.

I've personally got a 3-Day pass and will be flying over on the Thursday night, and I'm super pumped to listen to Ron Gilbert (Monkey Island series creator) at the opening keynote speech as well as hopefully catching some E-Sports if anything does get announced/organised.

If you missed out on tickets, you can still sign up to become an enforcer (volunteer helper) at the event which will at least get you in the door to see what is on offer.

Agreed, ive got tickets just wanted to come along and see everything. Also sort of a holiday for me, most likely driving down if I stay with someone else otherwise I will fly down

I really hope they do something eSports at this event, it's the perfect setting to hold a big event that will get big attention from people whom aren't normally exposed to it. Gaming tournaments in conventions like PAX over the last 10 years has really introduced a lot of people to competitive gaming and I'd love to see the same thing happen here.

lol. keep on dreaming - many have tried, but none have succeeded (that is in getting esports in).

the only thing there is going to be the BYOC area which is being run by some sydney sider small time lan'ers.

I expect there will be at least a small tournament, after all it's a strongly community driven event, and the audience is here to support it

Sadly I agree with this - An SC2 comp there would be sweet but I don't think it will happen. Happy to be proven wrong however.

I was told by the guy running PAX Aus That if you dont have a 3-day Pass or a Daily Pass then you wont be getting in (baring a media pass), and that there was no such thing as an esport pass for this event (this was a month or two ago, when only 2 of the days were sold out, things could of changed this then).

Pretty sure most organisers were trying to hold something at PAX, havent heard of any being successful yet, baring the 200 BYO style lan, with sit and go PCs

if floor space wasn't so damn expensive (we're talking obscene amounts here) then we could have communities hosting their own esport event at pax.

oh well, there's always EB expo.
