I think some of the posts in this thread are unnecessarily hostile...

People are too quick to jump the gun and flame someone these days, using any excuse they can find. He's just a young guy and he's seeking advice from like-minded people who love the game as much as he does. It didn't come across to me as attention seeking, especially because he didn't advertise himself in the OP.

Anyway, most of what I can offer you has already been said in one fashion or another, but essentially try to prioritise and balance your obligations with your passions. Commentating can be quite time consuming, so perhaps just leave that to the weekends and holidays. Stick to playing the game during the week just so you can remain engaged and active within the community. You mentioned you just hit diamond so obviously you're working your way up.

From my perspective, most successful casters are those who persevere regardless of followers, feedback and popularity. I may be out of line here, but I'm pretty sure Unstable went from being unknown to being THE SEA commentator over the course of a few months simply by throwing himself out there time and time again.

Just be mindful that all feedback, no matter how negative has it's value, but try not to take it all to heart. You'll never satisfy every listener, but as long as you enjoy doing it you shouldn't ever stop.

As for everyone else... Give the guy a break. Everyone starts somewhere. We're all here because we all love, live and breathe this game. Seeing responses like these remind me of idiots at concerts who start fights in the crowd even though they're both there for the same reason: because they love the music.

Why are you asking the community what YOU should be doing, if you really want to do something dont hesitate do it. Do it because you want to and you enjoy it.

Firstly, deL who the **** do you think you are? Ok you have managed the AUS national team and a leader of a successful SEA clan, congratulations. You have also managed to be a complete ****** douchebag. Honestly who the **** do you think you are derailing all threads you come across and giving negative feedback (maybe one positive feedback for every 500 shit posts you make). Good work, you have put effort in towards building the SEA community today. This is no excuse for you to think you are a god in the SC2 sea community. Acting like a complete utter ****** is not adding to your reputation. Honestly, stop piss ******* around the forums being a ****** douchebag and give critical criticism that's going to help or don't ****** post at all.

Secondly, Pinder. I know you aren't as big of a ****** like deL but you seem to be backing him up when he is obviously in the wrong. You are just as stupid/douchey as he is for thinking he is in the right when he is blatantly not. Get a clue?

I know this is a terrible post and of disgusting language, but I think many of the SC2SEA community agree that deL needs to drop his top shit attitude and stop being a complete douchebag in 99% of his posts or he's going to ruin his reputation, sea's reputation and continually be called a fat bastard with no ego/self-esteem in real life so he has to put on a ****** attitude and discourage other members.

On topic: Do you think you are able to commit X hours in sc2 and Y hours in casting while spending reasonable amount of time on ur RL stuff like studying and stuff. If you are able to, then dont quit. If not, you could either take a break in playing sc2 OR take a break from casting. You can always give up on either.

On del: He's an awesome organizer from SEA. He may be brutal and offensive with his words (TROLL) but i dont really see the necessity to flame him to this extent. We all know that he's a troll and he provides alot entertainment to us on this forum. Without him, sc2sea wont be so fun =P.

. Anyway Stitch most of what could have been said to advise you has already been said in one way or another but i think ultimately you should focus on your real life more than anything. Like HDPhoenixx who is usually very busy with work and what not that during such times he wont really cast for a while but instead focus on his real life commitments before continuing on casting.

Well, i don't see the point of flaming someone this hard. But then again, posting about RL stuff in online forums is pretty much just baiting trolls like deL to troll it. He's a dick, but he actually does post constructive stuff if its a good thread. Check "How to host tournaments" thread, he actually helps someone out O_O !

I certainly didn't get it making useless threads fishing for compliments about my casting (if you were serious about this thread why on earth would you advertise your commentary - do you think someone is going to go OMG U HAV SO MUCH POTENTIAL U R NEXT HUSKY DON'T GO!?). I also didn't get it by encouraging terrible threads by giving half-arsed, vague responses that don't give an answer and don't matter anyway.

Just quit no one will miss you in a week and you will have a lot of spare time. If you have to consider quitting, then it means you should just do it.
