Ok i seemed to miss a giant shitstorm and i feel for everyone who missed out but i have a question. Do the players from the Aus final that don't get top 6 to qualify for the Oceania finals get a spot/ticket/seat/******* w/e for the Sunday event or do we get a 'Too bad sorry, no ticket no entry"??
dot89:
wonder what you'd say if you missed out

What Dot said
I just want to reply to these rep comments..
I didn't get tickets.. but do you see me complaining or carrying on?... -_-
But did you know that you need one? I just didn't even try because I had stuff to do at work and believed the information from yourself and dox and others about how there was standing room available.
If I was there and tried to get one with everyone else, I'd be bummed, but it wouldn't be a big deal. I'm doing my best to still try and find a way to go, I'm just annoyed at the misinformation that was spread around, that's all.

holy **** JUST SHUT UP ALREADY.
EDIT: Nearly 15 posts in this thread today and all of them deliver the same message. We get it. You're annoyed. You're disappointed. You can stop posting now.

I'm just saying, if I'd known there was nothing without a ticket I'd have carved it into my ******* arm to make sure I remembered so I could go see Tastosis... (source)

Kudos to you, sir
Disappointment is still disappointment. Some people don't express it as loudly as others. This was a miscommunication that was sorely lamented, nothing more. We all know the good work the folks at ACL do.

Big day! Couple of notes... we will be sending out confirmation emails to all ticket holders in the next few weeks to confirm they're able to come to the event.
For those ticket holders who won't be able to come we will be re-issuing these tickets a week out from the event.
Just wanted to touch on scalping.
We will be checking tickets at the door to verify who you are.
Scalped tickets won't be allowed in.
I pre-organized with 3 friends that I'd get up early and grab 4 tickets for Sunday in hopes we could get seating together. I don't know exactly how seats are working in conjunciton with tickets, but is that likely to be a possibilty? I did manage to get the tickets, I just want to know if it's free-roam seating or assigned to each ticket.
Alike anything I am sure both ACL staff/volunteers and Blizzard reps and the like, as well as the venue, are doing their best to accommodate the obvious overpopulation of interest in whatever means are legally acceptable.
I have nothing to add to this thread, in fact I don't really think anybody does except for the said people above who are the only people really with the current and future answers.
People are understandably going to be frustrated/concerned/disappointed and generally a lot will be in the wrong frame of mind to make constructive comments. It is important people aren't suppressed from expressing their thoughts as it all is valuable feedback however equally everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
I personally did not get tickets but that doesn't give me the right to take my anger out on someone else be it their fault or not. In the mean time it's best to brainstorm ideas of how to make it work as best as possible. Whether there is somewhere after the event where Tastosis can make an appearance even for 5 minutes so people at least get that experience if they miss out on the live event within the venue. Or whether a barcraft is the only feasible option. Or something else I haven't thought about in the 10 seconds I did then.
Regardless if you can get into the venue or not, it's going to be a great weekend for esports and SEA. Yes flying interstate myself won't be a cheap trip but if I can spend a weekend with friends I have met and will meet at WCS, and share the hype and energy that comes with such an event - even if it is only at an after party it is something that cannot be replaced elsewhere.
Dox, JB, everybody involved hats of to how far this has come so far - to even get Tastosis is something people are quick to forget. I trust you will do what you humanly can. Do know that amongst all this concern and frustration fundamentally there is a lot of love and appreciation for what you guys do.
I have gone though and read all of these posts; whilst I can understand the frustration of the people who missed out; I think everybody needs to remember that this is massive boost for Australian eSports.
All we need to do is show everybody that eSports is on the rise.
Everybody who missed out if there is a barcraft nearby go to it; if you are at home watch the stream or have a mini-barcraft with friends; there is so much that can be done to grow eSports you don't need to be at the event.
I will be glued to the stream for the 2 days (minus one commitment that I already had)

Well than that's very smart. I reckon there will be at least 50 more tickets up for grabs 1 week out for the event. As for registering names i don't know about that maybe 1 name the ticket purchaser is ok but not both names.

Is this guy legit he has less posts than me.
yes JB is one of the key reasons the ACL stream kicks so much ass, you can trust him
maynarde said: What're you talking about and why is it over 3 posts? If it's scalping, then abolish all notions of this being supported or discussed in this thread. I will infract as necessary.
The first post was a mistaken quote, i tried to edit the post but it made a 2nd post. the 3rd post is in response to the answer to my first post. The post is about all the illegitimate tickets that people would of picked up due to the free tickets available. e.g. many people would of registered and taken far more tickets than they actually needed. the 50 spare tickets is referring to my estimated guess of how many tickets people have take and will not use.. those 50 tickets will be up for grabs for people to pick up a week out before the event, this is referring to the post made by the streamteam guy.

This guy.. this is what I'm getting at..
Pretty sure by now - everyone realises that there was some 'mis-information' bouncing around.. (I love it when people use my name here ..|.. ) But complaining about it isn't going to get ANYTHING done. If you missed out, man up - offer to help out at the event (VaNzR will now get 400 applications for volunteers - 300 will turn up and walk off and not actually help out, I bet). OR get active and organise something else.. be proactive and talk with ACL Staff about what can be done - say, a fan meet for Tastosis at a bar Saturday night and a barcraft over the weekend for those that missed out..
or offer to pay for entry and see if ATP can organise a larger room (I understand this might not be possible, but if a larger conference room at ATP isn't booked, is it possible to upgrade? and could those costs be passed onto the venue attendees? All pro-active solutions that I've messaged Vanz about. If something like that doesn't happen, then I'm glad I took the time to talk to Vanz about helping out last week and hope that I can contribute in order to attend and enjoy this event.
In short, don't sook about it - I missed out, I've booked interstate travel, I'm being proactive about making it work for me... and if not, oh-*******-well.. I'll have a nice weekend in Sydney with some mates, and hopefully catch up with you guys at a bar after the event.
Hey guys at ACL I know you have probably already exhausted communication with the venue and stuff but atm everyone seems to be upset because of misinformation or that they isn't get tickets however not much constructive things have been said (Barcraft an option). Why don't you have no chairs at the venue or reduce the amount of chairs in exchange for standing space, I'm sure people wouldn't mind standing up for games and they can always go into the city to sit down and have lunch etc. In regards to the minor rule why not just not serve alcohol at the venue, like is it necessary to drink at the venue when you can just go outside to a pub down the road, this way minors wouldn't miss out on this great event.
Personally i can't make it to Sydney but i hope to all that go have a great time! I hope this ideas can be taken into consideration.....
