My friend has a problem with mic, the sound volume is stupidly low. We've tried everything and have no idea how to fix it, maybe any of the casters here, who have experience with mics, can help out.
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Soundcard: the one that comes with motherboard
Settings: In Control Panel>sound, the recording device volume is set to max, boost at +30Db. All checkboxes are off, recording quality set to minimum (44.1k KHz). In Skype, settings are aslo at max.
Hardware: tried 3x different mics (including the one I'm using, which is fine for me at regular settings).
Drivers: updated, reinstalled over 9000 times.
3 weeks ago it was working perfectly, then he re-installed OS (same cd he was using before, same drivers, same hardware too), and now it's very low.
I can hear him barely, kind of like as if the mic itself is far from him, which it isn't.
We've tried different teamspeak software, including vent, sc2 teamspeak and skype. It seems that the problem is somewhere in windows.
Maybe we lack some codecs that were installed before, and now are gone, idk.
