To build on what Rogue and Nom said (and probably others as I skimmed through) girls get no more attention in terms of bullying than guys do. In fact, I feel like a girl almost asks to be bullied if she's waltzing around the gaming world jumping at the chance to tell anyone and everyone she's female, since of course, the point is that nobody actually cares.

The only difference is the words used to insult a female because they can use some aspect of the female gender to insult them with (e.g. slut, skank, ugly seems to be more common..). This isn't a big deal to me either though, because it would be on equal standing with calling a guy say, a tiny d*ck noob or something.

I think StarCraft II is one of the cleanest communities in terms of bullying. I would attribute the manners of most people in it to the fact that we really don't tolerate offensive behaviour. From abusing someone in a game, to being a bad winner/loser in a clan war to hacking/smurfing in the game....everything has a consequence in SC2. People take punishment into their own hands by kicking people out of teams and clans, banning them on forums or from tournaments etc. rather than having to rely on only the things we can report people for on Battle.net in the hopes that Blizzard will dish out some justice. Does that happen on xBox live? Is that the case in other PC games? Perhaps moreso in the competitive scene/public eye because there are reputations to uphold. But what does a COD clan full of abusive teenagers do? What does the WoW guild who's only main tank and top dps are quite rude do? Unfortuntely I think a lot of the time the answer is nothing, so in comparison, SC2 has a much nicer community with less bullying because we do take action.
