Starcraft 2 released today whats called a "Spawning".

It basically means you can "Trail" SC2 for free as long as you have either..

- A battle.net account with a "free" dl of starter edition

- or "Wings of liberty"

So yeah if you have one of those 2 things it is then possible for me to invite you to a party and have access to a lot of the games content. It also says in the video that you CANT chose your own race.. but i think i seen an update today that said they have made it now so you can.. will have to try it out to find out

Also to those who host one of these with a friend will receive a "Starcrafts spawning pool" portrait for SC2.

Also, yeah, basically, as long as one of your party members has any expansion level of Starcraft 2, anyone can play at that level, instead of how its been until now - the player with the higher expansion level gets brought down to the lower expansion level (so now a starter edition can play hots instead of a hots player playing starter edition).

The race option is still locked, so you can only play Terran,however for the next 7 days (until June 11th) you can pick any race. Basically, it's like a bonus/special weekend.

Another special thing until June 11th is 25% bonus EXP on HoTS whenever you play in a party with a friend that you're carrying to your expansion level

for example, if I play HoTS with my brother in a party - he only has WoL - both of us / I (not sure about that) gets 25% experience for the games we play.

One thing i confirmed is that you can't lower your version and pretend to be a Spawned Player (actually tried), so i think you need a LEGIT starter edition/WoL version

Not sure what you mean. I created a brand new Battle.net account lastnight with no games attached to it, logged in, joined a party with an existing HOTS account and played some games unhindered!

I mean if you already owned HotS (in your main account), you can't lower your own version to WoL and pretend to be a spawned player to get that achievement (i tried once and failed)

I just created a free account on my laptop last night to get the achievement playing a 2v2 against the AI. Feat of Strength earned.

This is going to inflate the prospectus report on number of accounts there are greatly for EA/Blizzard haha!
