Put the points put forward will cover everything and this is just to let you know that you have a whole nation full of BSG players so if you have a successful LAN then you can set it up to go state, then nation wide if possible! but this will definitely work if you put time and effort behind it!

P.S. I help Asrathiel with BSG so I know the admin nightmares so you can message me too!
Awesome, people seem to like the idea of equipment over prizes. I will contact my manager and discuss interstate postage for equipment

As a small business, we were planning to host an independent tournament to get our name out. This way, we can learn through experience and possibly host tournaments that are beyond BSG

That's a really cool prize for a BSG tournament. I won't be suprised to see many smurf on the tournament, considering its online and that the prize is very rewarding especially for an BSG tourney.

There's only one problem that I have with your idea. How will the admins tell if they are smurfing or not? There are a lot of Bronze-Gold players that are better at some parts of the game than other players, and if the admins judge whether they are smurfing through their gameplay, and if that caused a player to be disqualified, then that would cause issues, because whether a player is deemed good or not is subjective and is an opinion. It would suck for a player who has practiced a lot for this tourney to reach all the way to the RO4 and then get disqualified because the admins consider him to be too good for his level.

I suggest that you weed out smurfs by using factual information rather than judging the player's play and decide whether he is smurfing or not from there. That might prove to be rather a challenge considering that this IS an online tournament and that there is no way to keep track of the players playing other than their account names. Perhaps add a limitation that the players must have at least 50 career games played first on the sea server on their account page. I don't know, that's just an idea from the top of my head.

Overall, a nice initiative and a nice prize pool to boot

I think you need to decide what you want most then. If you most want to get some exposure, then you should just be a sponsor for something or someone who's job it is to host events and gain exposure for the event's sponsors. If you want to be an event organiser, then you should host something up yourself.

I reckon we're trying to gain some exposure whilst hosting events.

After looking at the weekly BSG tournaments, the system seems to be working and may adopt several points and tips from it. Thanks for the suggestion!
