Man you are getting way too ahead of yourself. I never thought of how to win certain match ups until i was gold, etc. I saw you play online, you just build whatever. Use 1 proper build from the net for a week and trust me, you'll start learning.

@Aean: The reason I build whatever is because once my BO is done I have no real plan of what to do. No strategy survives contact with the enemy. And what MACRO-BASED (i.e. not an all-in/cheese) strategy would you suggest?

Dont start a macro style of terran. I didnt even know what macro/micro was when i was at your level. Macro styles take longer to learn then aggresive styles. You need to learn the basic mechanics of the game first.

Ill teach you one build order which i want you to learn, itll help. Youll be losing here and there from rushes, you need to learn to defend against them. Fast cloaked banshee, get online and we'll talk more.

I felt myself asking questions like, how the heck do I win vs this race, what do I do vs build X, etc... It got me really annoyed sometimes, but now I see it as just another challenge to work on.

I was afraid of laddering entirely and tried to find a way in order to really not care whether I win or lose, but still learn from it, in order to get the most effective use of time. That only came with massing up games.

I was in every BSG up until I started organising BSGs and 2v2 tournies for sc2sea.com. I got smashed in every BSG.

Some strategies I use people tell me not to use, and instead go for the standard playstyle for the matchup. I later end up completely destroying some players with the same strategies.

I still feel like my decision making is to blame whenever I lose, and not the fact that my opponent is better than me. But Im now platinum league, despite all of those things. I think a lot of players are in generally the same boat, you just have to improve your game bit by bit.

Tbh, the only way to improve is to play a lot of meaningful games. The only way to get up in leagues is to play a lot of games and win a lot. The only way to win a lot is to improve. But this takes some practice to get right as it is. If you dont feel happy doing that process, then either look for a solution or quit. But I still see there being solutions possible for you, that are easier than what you are probably guessing.

It shouldn't affect your study that much if you play sc2 for like an hour or two a day. There are a lot of players that only have times for about 5 games a day, but then they analyse their games very closely afterwards, and pick out what they need to improve on. Maybe just two or three things to improve on. Then the next time they play, they are a LITTLE bit better. Over time, you can end up being better than mass-gamers.

@Spartaz: I can't seem to grasp Zerg mechanics like spreading creep, spitting larva, spreading overlords and macro-ing my base properly. But on the other hand, I played Protoss a while back so I know basically what they can do... VERY basically...
