Hello one and all, I'm a Zerg who is terrible at its mirror matchup. I do remember Destiny posting videos of quick roach timings, but it seems that such timings always fail when I'm doing them.

I know quite a few Zerg builds; it's just that, as Zerg myself, I don't know how to react to each one.

If you could post Zerg builds here with their Zerg counterbuilds it would help me immensely. Thanks!

i go gas pool expand make some slings and then go and win, if you don't win go into banes then roaches then infestors.

Roach timings aren't too popular in ZvZ at the moment (at my level at least), and are used primarily for defense. I suggest that you don't rely on those kinds of builds, although they can still be in your bag of tricks.

As a general however not hard and fast rule to ZvZ openers:

Early pools > 15hatch > 14gas14pool > Early pools (Better to think of it as a circle, but hard to show)

If you want to use a build that is good to react with and safe against pretty much everything, I recommend 14gas14pool speedling expand.

Read up on Shaft's post though, some solid ZvZ guides in there, which can probably better explain ZvZ reactions than I can in one post.

im beginning to kinda like this Mu because no matter what you go there seems to be a method to hold pressure, eg if you go fast exp and he goes for the fast speeds and you manage to micro while getting some spines you benefit in eco in the end, otherwise you die. of you both mirror build its a micro war and this can be really really fun. Otherwise it all comes down to who gets the cleaner and most efficient use out of their units/structures.

The build ive been using lately is the 15 drone sling bane, decent if hes not going roaches, and its pretty all in unless you throw drones in while you play this, but its not as effective if you do this. Mass slings can kill the initial 8 roaches theyll get out max. to really boost pull off gas if ur bane attack doesnt go too well and double up min patches for a 9 min game, youll win more than you lose if you do this build
