So, the past few days has been a real tough time for me personally as my GF of 3 years told me she didn't love me anymore, and asked that I leave the house and return back to my parents house. She feels that at this time we're becoming more friends than lovers.
So, this is mainly a result of myself being on the computer and gaming / whatever for a majority of the day, which ends up making me less sociable with her in terms of going out and doing things with her and all that.
Because my current job only gives me 5 hours a week, and Uni is over. I have nothing to do during the day and end up sitting here playing games all day, cook dinner, then return. Not only that, I also live with my GF in her house. The mortgage is in her name and all that. I can hardly pay for bills and I feel that I've let her down in that regard.
Because I love her so much that I'm willing to do anything, I promised to her that I would stop doing anything gaming related to help with my 'addiction' on the computer to stop spending as much time. As well as change in terms of how I am socially. (Do more RL things, etc)
Just today I got an offer for a new job, that offers 20+ hours a week. This will help greatly with occupying my time during the day, and actually giving me an income that I'm able to actually start paying for bills, groceries and other stuff.
As a result of this, I will be quitting casting games, streaming, Youtube stuff and all that. This weekend will be the last stream I will do (For the Alienware Pro-Am) then that will be it. Yes, that also means that I won't be on the Podcast (But will try to get someone else to run it).
I will also be leaving Team Immunity as well, I can't hardly dedicate enough time with the team with my new decisions unfortunately.
I want to thank everyone who helped me and supported me throughout the 2 years that I was apart of SC2SEA, everyone from Zergtastic who started my casting 'career' and to Nirvana who keeps helping me out. Thanks to iM as well, it was good fun for the time that I was apart of it and appreciate the opportunity to improve.
And finally, thanks to everyone who watched any of my streams, you're all ultimately who kept me going, and I'm entirely grateful for your support.
Thanks everyone for the fun, and good luck in the future! I'll be checking in here and there so don't disappoint
Don't change for your gf man, change because you want to. But gl! Glad to have met you before you decided to leave the community, hope you come by once in a while!

Just don't do eettt.
Iv'e been in a circumstance where I told my ex that it was starting to become a friendship. Couple of weeks later he was begging, I gave him a second chance and ended up making me feel 1000x worse than before, because he dumped me.
Working helps for sure, but it might be difficult to start fresh and you , might leave a crappy impression on your employees, just rely on your mates, and you'll do fine, Light has got some pretty good points too
Do whatever you have to in life to get where you want. Best of luck with everything, I hope it works out for you; just make sure that you enjoy yourself along the way.
Best of luck System! Life is a balancing game, we all should make sure we don't tip it to one side too often, whether it be work/relaxing/other. Spend more time with your girlfriend, find out what other interests you have besides gaming and one day you will come back to this community with new and fresh perspectives
First of all, kudos to you for being able to have the guts to talk about it here with everyone. However, I know some people may tell you to go back to e-Sports as it is your passion, but I support the decision you have made to quit. Relatively similar to you, I also quit most of gaming for academics and also for a person I liked. I think it is fair to make this decision, as all gamers will have to make this decision some time in their life. I say this not because I'm Asian, in fact my family is pretty westernized, but it's true that when you get to some time in life, gaming won't be something that can help you in the long term. So System, I totally support you, I think quitting gaming completely may be too much, you can think of helping teams with some background work or whatever. There are always different ways to do what you like - for instance I am taking a backseat on my team at the moment, and I'm only 16! You're a champ for doing so much for SEA, and I'm sure everyone appreciates you bud.
Like people say you need balance. I hope you're not expected to give up games entirely, everyone has hobbies they are passionate about and balance them with life every day. If you give up your passions you will go insane / depressed, trust me.
I've had issues previously in the girlfriend department RE: gaming. But you just need to work hard to find some balance.
I ended up setting up an 'us night' for a while which helped out, we also attend the gym together 3 days a week and do things every Saturday.
I'm always around on Skype if you want to talk about anything
Really sorry to hear about your situation mate, our scene (and youtube in general) are a poorer place to be losing your active contributions.
In saying that, best of luck, I think your decision is definitely the right one without question based on what you've said. Maybe sometime when everything is sorted, you might be able to work in a healthy balance and get along to an ACL or something. If not though, best of luck in everything I think you'll come out on top
Kezz Pm'd me a few hours back and asked if he could take over, so I think that's sorted. We'll see how it goes though.

Yea, gaming is still a huge passion of mine and I'm not stopping 100%. I just need to limit the amount of time I spend here.
Setting up 'date nights' and stuff like that is on the list and I'm really looking forward to a new perspective on things.
I'll still be around, and I'll be watching the podcast when it comes back for sure
well thats really sad good luck with everything mate

Good luck with everything System! Sometimes it is time that we ..move on from gaming and start to really grind down in the real world and settle, but it doesn't ever mean we have to give it up altogether.
Glad to know you aren't giving up what it is you love doing. Hope to see you around still on here now and then and helping everyone out.
