tgun's ranking
1) mOOnGLaDe
Whilst he may be but a Prince in Persia, he is the King in Australia. Without a doubt the best Australian player in my mind, and I'm sure most -- if not all, of yours. Strong results at every ACL in the year, WCS, MLG.. it's clear that although he may have faltered at one stage, he is still cemented as Australias number one player.
2) MaFia
Immunity's premier player and there's a reason for it -- there isn't a player in Australia who goes into a match against MaFia without their concerns. With such a wide playstyle -- and seemingly, the ability to predict when a 10pool is necessary, or when it is coming, allows him to become a monster in what is 90% of the matches he plays -- ZvZ.
3) PiG
One of the most -- if not the most -- consistently improving player in the SEA scene. PiG has went from an "outside shot" in tournaments to a strong contender to take the event out. Winning ACL Melbourne, WCS Australia and then participating in multiple overseas events, as well as an extended stay in Korea for training is increasing PiGs global presence -- and it's a damn deserved one at that.
4) tgun
5) Light
The #1 Protoss in Australia for what seems like as long as Starcraft II has existed -- always striking fear in his opponents with a unique playstyle (because why be someone else when you can be yourself?), the Aiur god himself ranks just barely outside the top 3. If he switched back to playing full-time, who knows?
6) Ninja
Some would call him the youngest of the Australian group -- and barely able to drink, you'd be correct. However, that hasn't made him any less fearsome of a competitor. With knowledge of the ZvZ matchup allowing him to rival anyone in the SEA scene, the only thing holding him back from breaking into the top 3 is overcoming lan nerves and improving his weakest matchup - ZvT.
7) Petareus
The (new) premier player of New Zealand, Petraeus has shocked the SEA scene with some amazing (and unexpected) results towards the end of 2012. If this news post was delayed by a few months, I'm certain he would be ranking higher -- that being said, with tournament placings sending him to both Japan and France, this young player is only going to get better from here.
8) Iaguz
Gimli himself makes an appearance on the list, and as the highest rated terran. All that's holding him back is his attitude -- his work ethic is among the best in SEA, his mechanics are as good, if not better than any other terran. However, his ability to be frustrated by small mistakes (TvZ comes to mind) is the only thing holding him back -- if he could get that under control, a top 3 presence from him would not be too far-fetched.
9) Rossi
Some would rate him above Iaguz, and I definitely couldn't argue. With the King as his teammate, his TvZ has improved leaps and bounds, making him an always fearsome competetitor in the bug-infested land that is Australia. Also being team-mates with Deth is allowing his TvT to progress at a very nice rate -- the only thing hampering him is his dedication to his study. After he completes University, if he dives into Starcraft, we could see a terran atop the SEA charts.
10) Jazbas
The perfect human himself rounds out the list for me. With a playstyle that strikes fear into even the most solid player, Jazbas is a person who you can never take lightly -- however, as his dedication to both his girlfriend and study increases, he isn't finding as much time to practice, and it is sadly showing. Perhaps we will see a resurgence with the release of HotS for the musical genius?
