Unfortunately this morning my very solid 4 year old modem kicked the bucket T.T . I am currently using my backup (which is a piece of crap) and I am wondering...
1.) Does having a good modem really help that much, or will an average one do the trick?
2.) What are some of the things I should look for?
3.) Any recommendations?!
Price isn't really an object as I've been meaning to upgrade for some time now ^^
Billion or linksys (cisco) are the way to go imo, but really if it just for net any modem will do.
If its for wireless and media streaming as then you'll probably want dual band ect.
Brief featureset:
- ADSL2+
- Supports future cable/fiber upgrades via a 'modem' port
- Inbuilt gigabit switch for fast home networking (most routers are 10/100 only)
- Draft-N Wireless (fast)
- Billion router firmware has a great featureset for the price.
Billion are a good brand and I use them for a lot of my clients.
edit: just saw marinehero's post nice
