If you are getting a BSOD and don't get time to read the error code, try installing this
BlueScreenView from here. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
After you get the BSOD, boot into Safe Mode and read the info. You may be able to install it in Safe Mode if you go to Safe Mode with internet, (or whatever it says) if your comp goes to the BSOD at Boot.

NirSoft have heaps of other great programs to keep your best buddy running.
