A Goal Accomplished

A love of mine has always been Counter Strike. No matter how far I've gone out of the scene or being absorbed in another gaming scene, I've always had a love for CS. Of course, Starcraft II lured me away, but secretly I still wanted to be good at CS (even though I was crap at it). Alas the CS community wasn't the best either, but I decided after several failed attempts, this time I would do it.

One of my goals in my life have always been to get in a CS:GO team. Recently, I found a group of... [Read More]

Friendships Formed From Starcraft II - 2012

There seems to be too much BM and angst, anger etc. flying around nowadays, so I thought I'll blog on something happy. Friends. Such as friends I've met in 2012 on SCII. Or perhaps I've known them from earlier in 2011, but regardless I'll try list all the people who I call a friend...to a varying degree. Needless to say each and everyone of you have made an impact with me, where I am more than happy to call you friends, even if we don't speak much, or I don't have you on real-id/skype/whatever.... [Read More]

Reflection - 1 Year

Firstly a word of warning. This blog will be long.

I've been planning to do this blog for some time, but never got around to it. However I've finally found the time. I want to reflect on Starcraft II, and tell you the story of how I first began to play Starcraft, and to love it. However, to read this blog, you must know me. For those who don't, I'll introduce myself.

My name is Joel, I use the alias FaDeUndoNe, but was also previously called FaDeRicocheT. Thus if anyone wonders why... [Read More]

Although I try to practice SC2 as much as possible, I was feeling pretty nostalgic the past 2-3 weeks. As a result I cranked open a couple of old games to re-live my childhood. Plus, it's a great stress reliever when you really feel like QQing about the state of Terran and how good protoss/zerg are, and u can cool off and keep a positive mindset.

AOE2. Nothing can be said except wow after playing SC2, I'm so much better that this game rofl (more than 1 barracks pls). Absolutely love AOE2,... [Read More]

Getting to GrandMaster

Absolutely thrilled with what I got tonight!

The journey was tough, yet enjoyable. Lots of highs and lows, but the best was just falling short of masters last season and working my ass off, watching lots of streams and analysing lots of replays to get to iGm. To imagine from my humble roots playing in BSGCL Season 2 for iFADE as a zerg, to joining iFADE and switching at iDiamond to iTerran. Then becoming a big part of iFaDe and becoming an officer, to later reaching my goal of iGm that I... [Read More]

Too often I hear people say 'You should have done this,' or 'if you added this into your composition, it would be far better.' Not to say they're wrong. A lot of advice will come from players equal, or higher than you. To someone like me who is in Masters, you listen to what they have to say since they're in GM. Recently FaDe had a clan war, and I was singled out as having a terrible playstyle that is stupid/useless/crap/trash in a TvZ by the streamer/caster. Not a nice chap. Needless to say, I... [Read More]

Road to Preparing for BSGCL Grand Final

Whats up guys.
For a whole bunch of you guys that don't know, BSGCL grand final is this week. Already 3 games have been played, in which Clanless is up 2-1 over FaDe A. In case you didn't read my earlier blog some time ago, I also represent FaDe A. And I'll be discussing the preparation I've done coming into the Grand Final.

BSGCL Grand Final is a BO5, and so I can be playing either 4th or 5th. Generally the latter spots mean that you may not get to play many games, or any at all but it... [Read More]

BSGCL All-Kill - Learning from Mistakes

Learning from Mistakes I find is one of the is the biggest key in Starcraft 2.
Not learning to macro like a bawss
Nor learning how to micro like a bawss
Nor BMing like a bawss
Nor generally being a bawss

Hopefully there is some person out there who hasn't really learnt this lesson, and that it helps them in the future. I am by no means a good player, but am going to detail my experiences through BSGCL to give examples of how losing helps you improve, in a number of ways. I always have... [Read More]
