The players and selections for the 2014 OSC grand finale group stage have now all been set.
In order to get to know the players and their thoughts going into the finals, we asked them
some optional questions while confirming their participation. To see their responses, click
on their name in the group table below.
Players with dimmed names did not give a response. Also note, players responded before they
knew who would be in their group, and before Maru was dropped.
What was your favourite OSC tournament/or moment this year?
I was one of the more 'play everything and accumulate points that way' type of person at the beginning/middle of the year but I really think that by the end of the year I was starting to get pretty good results and beat pretty good players, so my favourite moment would probably just be the year as a whole and the progression that I've made with osc tournaments.
How far do you think you can go in this tournament?
In group stages I will hopefully get an easy group so that I can make it to day 2 and play some of those people :P
Are there any players you want to play the most?
I'd love to play any of the big sea guys, pig iaguz pet kk etc, also arthur I think I could take a game of him too. In group stages I will hopefully get an easy group so that I can make it to day 2 and play some of those people :P
Are there any players you want to avoid?
Mostly the koreans, people like spear and arthur seem beatable if I play my best but players like solar, maru, impact, emotion, any of the kespa/esf players really are just way out of my league.
Who do you look up to, take inspiration from, in the StarCraft II community?
Definitely life, life always finds a way. Mvp will forever be my King, and soO for his consistency.
Who are some of your favourite SEA players?
Petraeus because of his dedication, but after meeting pig a few times he seems like a genuinely awesome guy and really nice to talk to, always happy to talk about the series after you play him too which is always helpful.
What do you love the most about StarCraft II?
Honestly, I just love competing. It just so happens that I found starcraft and my competitiveness kicked in. I couldn't be the worst of my friends, then I couldn't be the worst in my division, and eventually I've gotten here. I really just love competing and want to be #1

I really enjoyed all of the tournaments during the year they were well run and in general very good fun.
How far do you think you can go in this tournament?

There's no highest level in starcraft if you lose its only because of your mistakes and there's always something to improve on! ;)

What was your favourite OSC tournament/or moment this year?
For me, coming 2nd in the Masters Cup back in March was a huge result where I really outperformed by expectations. As a fan, I loved the spectacle of the WCS qualifiers, seeing the return of glade in season 2 and watching kingkong's continued dominance was so cool! Petraeus falling short by a series each time was heartbreaking, so many great rivalries, it was amazing to watch.
How far do you think you can go in this tournament?
I'm probably going out in the group stage in the 4th or 5th slot, same as last year.
Are there any players you want to play the most?
I really want to play DemiLove, I haven't played him in a long time and I want to see how far we've both come since we last played.
Are there any players you want to avoid?
I'd like to avoid top zerg players, especially from sea. I think a lot of them will be favoured against me.
Who do you look up to, take inspiration from, in the StarCraft II community?
I have a lot of respect for PiG. He's taught me a lot about the game and continues to do so which I love him to death for haha. Outside of SEA, I take a lot of inspiration for a lot of top zerg players but recently especially I have admired jaedong a lot.
Who are some of your favourite SEA players?
PiG, MightyKiwi, Law and Wally. I love kingkong so much as well, watching him play is incredible!

What was your favourite OSC tournament/or moment this year?
Masters cup for sure. I think it will always be the most beloved SEA tournament. Brings all the best SEA players and allows them to show their might against the NA and international scene too.
How far do you think you can go in this tournament?
Completely unsure. I'm definitely not at my peak in terms of skill and I've been out of touch with the SEA scene so I'm not sure how I match up against a lot of the SEA players that aren't PiG/Petraeus/Iaguz
Are there any players you want to play the most?
I want to knock Petraeus out to make him really mad.
Are there any players you want to avoid?
Iaguz. I don't think I've ever taken a series off of him so he's a bit scary.
Who do you look up to, take inspiration from, in the StarCraft II community?
I would love to say ST_Life but at the end of the day he's really hard to learn from. I love him though, let that be known. I learn the most from HyuN since he has such a simple playstyle that is really easy to emulate and do well with.
Who are some of your favourite SEA players?
I think Petraeus is a cute kid. Same with David.

What was your favourite OSC tournament/or moment this year?
ACL Sydney was fun to watch but was kind of bittersweet as I was meant to be there and was really hoping to do well. So I guess on a personal note, placing top 8 in WCS Oceania was probably the moment of the year for me. It just felt great to do well in a big tournament for once. Aside from that particular moment, I had started to do consistently well in weekly tournaments/online rounds etc before my job came along.
How far do you think you can go in this tournament?
I legitimately believe I'm currently the worst of the 32. Maybe with a few weeks practice I can get back to a better level and take some maps. My goal with this tournament is just to have fun, play some great players and see how well I can do coming back for a week or two.
Are there any players you want to play the most?
Taeja would be fun for the challenge. I also kinda want to play the guys who I always had close series with in weekly tournaments this year, guys like Enderr. I feel those series would be fun and I'd have at least a chance.
Are there any players you want to avoid?
As much as it was fun playing Maru earlier this year, I got beat so hard that I really don't want to again haha. I guess my teammates as well, although perhaps they will see it as an easy win right now!
Who do you look up to, take inspiration from, in the StarCraft II community?
- Life, he's just freakishly good. His games are just so brilliant and fun to witness. Does stuff people wouldn't dream of doing in big games. That Blizzcon run got me hooked again. - Snute, for his hardwork and dedication. The way he approaches the game is fantastic and I'm so glad he has got his rewards for being so committed to improving. - Soo, it's hella hard to do as consistently well as he has, especially when he hasn't quite gotten the big payoff yet. Also his ZvP saved my life for a good while.
Who are some of your favourite SEA players?
Wally and MightyKiwi are two of the guys I had/have the most interaction with. They're both really good guys and I always enjoy practicing with or playing against them. Also, KingKong is God.
Where can your fans follow you?
You can follow me on twitter and on twitch. Please give me a follow, I should be streaming a lot leading up to this event if all goes to plan. Also, please follow my team Frenetic Array on Facebook and Twitter! I've really appreciated all their support this year.
What do you love the most about StarCraft II?
All the epic moments from games I've watched, being able to share and enjoy the game with my mates and meeting a lot of new people both here at events and online.
