Nope, this is not another Open. This is a brand new tournament related to . Ever wanted to play in a tournament with a Dual Tournament format in group stages, then advance with a close 2-1 win over your opponent to the next stage? Now is the chance for you to experience that as a player!
Everyone deserves some attention. To keep the community motivated to play more, and in an effort to hopefully increase the overall skill level of , this tournament is here to serve its purpose! I have seen people improving since GPDL 2014 Season 1 days, and I hope to achieve the same for this season.
I don't say, do I? But yes, here comes the concern of ex-. For this season, like GPD Open, players who have achieved 2 seasons ago but are struggling to return to the league you were once in, drop me a PM to appeal to join this tournament. I'll assess based on a few criterias, such as #dedication, number of times achieved, and attitude.
For people who primarily ladder only on KR, players are allowed because the dynamics aren't the same as compared to the previous season anymore.
In regards to smurfing, I wouldn't really be checking hard on to see if anyone is smurfing. I'd just go by suspicion then check on you if I think you're a smurf. Do consider the following if you're thinking of smurfing in this low-prize-money tournament:
1. You may have won the whole tournament full of . You have gained your momentary recognition as winner of GPDL. But, when you have been discovered that you're a smurf, is it going to be that great after all? You can probably do that, but I would prefer the glory of winning the tournament going to someone who really deserves it.
2. If you want to feel good about beating up some , why not just hit the ladder with a fresh account (borrow from someone, hop on to another server) and get to ?
3. You're gonna have to devote yourself every single week till the end of the tournament. Because you're gonna win it all eventually right? Do not waste your time...
To register, simply post your IGN. Battle.net profile page of your most laddered account (AM or KR or SEA, all is fine) and your Skype account (compulsory!) in the comments.

Please register only if you think you will be free at least 5 days (or night) a week for the duration of the tournament. I've had enough of people pushing their games to the weekends, because it is very inconvenient for everyone else. I will be more merciless with walkovers this season.
Also, don't register if you're just hoping to get an easy group and forfeit if you get a hard one.
As of the registration end, your account must be in , or you'll be automatically disqualified. Following which, after the registration ends, you are free to train hard and try to promote to . Like mentioned before, the aim of this tournament is to improve the overall skill level of players currently in . If you work hard once the registration ends and get promoted to , shouldn't you then be deserving of winning the tournament because of the blood, sweat, and tears you've put into it?
The schedule is projected as follows:
Ro32: 9 March 0000H AEDT - 15 March 2159H AEDT
- Break for Group Selections and preparation for Ro16 matches -
Ro16: 23 March 0000H AEDT - 29 March 2159H AEDT Playoffs: 30 March 0000H AEDT - 5 April 2159H AEDT
Games will be played on any server both players agree on, be it SEA, NA, or KR. Default server will be on SEA. Please don't be a douchebag by disagreeing to playing on another server when you actually can. If the disagreement persists, the set must be played out or a walkover will be given to the player not wanting to play on SEA.
Additionally, anyone who gets promoted to during the duration of the tournament will receive a $10 incentive as well!
Just addressing this, I understand it as being a great incentive, but wont there be a large influx of promotions since Blizzard confirmed they will rework the league distribution to increase the size of the masters server? A lot of ex masters will be promoted and I understand they're not valid for the prize but I think there will be a lot of diamonds promoted to masters league in the coming weeks.
Not trying to be a dick, just making sure that if going ahead with this incentive then you realised that mass promotion could happen Perhaps enter everyone who promoted to Masters in a raffle or something and draw to see who receives the $10?

I'll see how it goes, maybe just some of them will be promoted haha. If it's indeed the case of EVERY diamond being promoted up to Masters then I'll simply not give it out, because they did not get there by improving, but because of the league distribution change.

Plat/Diamond? I never got higher than Plat but I was playing mainly Diamonds by the end. But I also haven't practiced Terran in ages so we'll say Platinum for sure :P
