We believe that Frustration was smurfing on Ice's account during SEACraft Weekly on Monday 6th of April.
Our suspicious arose when Ice beat Chase, a player mostly considered notably better than Ice. Furthermore, "Ice" against Chase had a noticeable improvement in his APM.
just want to point out
the forcefields and game sense of the player in my seacraft game
was definitely above diamond level
he split my army in-half
with no overlapping forcefields
Further Hotkey analysis showed some differences between the player who played against Chase and Ice. Most notably, they matched the hotkeys of Frustration.
Finally, hotkey spamming is a significant 'finger print' everyone spams in their own individual way. For example, I spam 22 & 33 as my scouting overlords along with 4 for my hatches. Then when queens are made I replace 4 to be my queens and 5 is my hatches. Additionally, high level players also spam in a particular pattern and method. This is displayed below by using SC2Gears to look at the keystrokes.
Furthermore, it seems Frustration - who is normally quite chatty in the ChatBox, stopped talking during the game on chatbox. Excluding two moments which align to his in-game APM dropping to 0. We deduced this by calculating when the game finished as to work out at what time it started. Then compared that to the APM in the replay - "ice" APM stopped during the game around the time Frustration made a comment in chatbox. Then 20 seconds later, he posted again in chatbox, aligning with his APM dropping to 0 again.
Finally, the defence for Ice would be that he has learnt Frustration's Hotkey set up and is receiving coaching from Frustration. We have, however received a replay AFTER the match vs Chase that confirmed Ice is still using his standard hotkey set up (1 & 2 Nexus). As this information was considered a breach of trust by people within custom games with Ice and by request is not to be publicly posted. However, can be verified by mod's of SC2SEA.
ChadMann: I have discussed with Ice the evidence to seek clarification and his defence. He firstly denied playing any games since. Then when I mentioned he played a team game on NA and referenced the game he said "i cant remember if i went back to my old hotkeys in that game i was drinking last night" after dodging supplying me with a replay for over an hour. He stated he wanted to talk to Eddie about the matter.
Finally, after being confronted with the information and speaking with Eddie about the situation, Ice admitted Frustration played on his account under the suggestion of Ice. I would like to thank everyone involved in the investigation and with Ice and Frustration.
