Not really related to this post but fukit Just the one bit at 2:05
So many of us here are competitive - many of us go to gym...
Competitive gym
?????
Profit
If people may be keen can have a few categories with top 5 rankings so everyone can know; not only do you lift but how much and how often. And isn't that what life is all about?
Categories: will divide into tiers when there is enough people
Running - (post average pace, time and distance - maybe someone who can math can figure out a way to rank someone who does less distance but higher pace etc)
- Short distance: 400m - 1km
- Medium distance: <10km
- Long distance: >10km
Bench press - (weight in kg, reps and sets - also note that if it isn't close to touching your chest you a pussy and it doesn't count :P)
- Single rep max
- Multi set (average of 8 reps minimum across 3 sets?) Squats - (weight, reps, sets - use just barbell without assists and 90 degrees on knees)
*- Single rep max
*- Multi set (average of 8 reps minimum across 3 sets?) Deadlift - (weight, reps, sets - ???)
*- Single rep max
*- Multi set (average of 8 reps minimum across 3 sets?) Pushups - (man pushups only - how many max in one go)
Any other categories people would like to see?
This may help the lazy gym goers get back into it and perhaps give you that little extra to make you want to push yourself.
No prizes or anything apart from the obvious e-peen and the bitches you'll get from being #1 lifter in SC2SEA

This would work, but its the internet so i already lift like 200KG and run 10k in about 2 minutes.
See how this could not work unless people are honest.
Also Mafia will drop SC2 and do this, will be pro of course.

True but I feel our community is small and honest enough for it to work ^^
Plus you only cheating yourself if you lie
I will put more effort into this as/if people get into. Going to hit gym and post my numbers on monday

Screw it I'm doing, need to get fit for footy anyway. Im only 16 though so I'm only doing running/ push ups since i shouldn't do weights other then body weights
EDIT: Id also love to come up with some sort of ridiculously confusing and idiotic scoring system counting all the categories and give you a gym rank. Will use my brain tomorrow, Defiantly should get a sc2sea achievement for this.
It's kind of hard to rank people in these sort of situations because it comes down to if you're looking at an exercise pound-for-pound or just highest mass moved in an exercise and even within these you can look at 1RM or exercises in a circuit (obviously two extremes).
Just to preface what I've got, I think it's really most important to remember that the only results that matter are your own and how they stack up against your previous results. I'm not even remotely close to being as fit as a lot of people who're interested in fitness, but it doesn't matter as long as I'm pushing myself via progressive overload.
I'm 180cm and currently weigh 78kg unclothed as of 1 minute ago (I generally weigh between 76.5-78kg, depending on my food intake and digestive cycle)
All of my above results are done without a spotter and under my house so I'm limited in the sense that I don't have the safety to go 100% in the exercises and it's more what I'm doing at the moment in my 5-day-split workout than trying to break PRs.
True - im hoping I can get enough categories and tiers etc so people can compete with others around their level
Or have some maths nerd figure out a way to adjust results and give people appropriate ranks (if its even possible)
I'm doing it for fun, cause if there is someone with a record slightly higher than mine I may try to push myself just a little extra to beat it
In my opinion, fitness isn't about beating others, but about beating yourself. You don't want to try and be better than someone who is 20KG heavier than you, because chances are it wont happen and you'll run yourself into the ground. Instead, focus on making yourself better than you were when you woke up in the morning. It's so much more rewarding.

Not everyone has an olympic athlete's mental discipline in that regard
This is not meant to be serious - just something fun to help with motivation.
Yes I cannot compete even close to what Jinx can do but I'm close to Stallion. And I know at least for me if I see hey I can beat the guy 1 rank above me if I just go a little bit longer then that would help motivation.
If people become interested in the thread we will be able to give lightweights and hardcore gymers their own tiers to compete in etc
Rico actually managing to get arms that can be seen without a telescope is an achievement enough for me. Can see why you want to do this Meaty, but I don't give one single crap about how much anyone lifts. I'm in the gym for me and me alone. Plus, I'm not gonna try slap other people's e-peen with my own to stroke my own ego, that's pretty gay...
