Yes I've been away for awhile. But now I'm back! At least on the forums. So what has changed over the last 2 years? Do share with me!
Some of my observations:
People
maynarde/glade are now pro-casters?
80% of the top foreign players have quit
where is dox, does he still play/admin
flash still isn't bonjwa flash
jaedong still isn't bonjwa jaedong
huk is still playing and won some sea tournament
thanks for making the site so beautiful paperclip
thanks for making the site so alive eddie
love the new staff and their articles! i don't know who all of you are but you know who you are and i thank you for that
is there any more drama
does deth still hate me
what are pig and dot doing
where is yoonyj
wow i saw del on the forums
Game
the game doesn't look like it has evolved much
parting still does the same builds. over the last 2 years what the hell
when swarm hosts come up parting dies 100% of the time
pvp is still retarded rock paper scissors
where do all the sea players play
the sc2 audience seems to get smaller and smaller
prize pools so tiny compared to moba games
is hearthstone more popular than sc2? if it is i'm going to be very sad.
damn the whole thing about advertising and sponsors has become a lot clearer to me now after working with advertisers over the last 2 years. there's basically too little return to sponsors for their investment and that's cause of the small player base. so any sponsorship is just charity most of the time.
I'll like to sponsor a tournament in LOTV open to just SEA players! would love to see some familiar faces return for it

Glade now casts proleague and SSL (essentially the OSL replacement) in Korea, he's also casted for dreamhack. Maynarde is the new king of IEM and has recently really exploded as a caster internationally.
The top foreign players have changed but I don't know how many have quit that I can think of. I'd say the turnover has been somewhat reasonable. The amount of people who are "progamers" overall are less but to be honest the amount before was way over saturated.
Dox is kind of around, seems to follow more the cod stuff nowadays with Nv.
Re flash and Jaedong, it seems like the next generation of would be brood war superstars are the ones securing the big wins. However, both of them have looked like the best of their race at various times.
Masters cup is now open to pretty much everyone but EU/KR now so we're likely to see more NA vs SEA competition.
Always more drama.
Pig is in the ro16 of WCS premier league (it is region locked now and SEA gets 2 spots in premier).
Have not seen yyj in a long while.
Game changes in little ways, a lot of 2013 styles are obsolete.
hey nirvana! glad to see u back... on the forums at least ^_^
Most SEA players are on NA or KR these days though some still play on SEA to get that badge

PH scene other than me and Enderr dieded already. Other pro/good pinoy players already retired / changed game...
The FB group seems to be alive, but then again, the players aren't that good (most are like plat and below, very little diamonds)
Fortunately this isn't true, a slow and healthy growth in viewers in korean and international tournament viewership even before #signsofthebeta etc

Yeah they're more popular and have been for like 4 years, doesn't mean SC2 doesn't have a place with 100s of thousands of fans and millions of dollars of prize money each year

I think it gets a lot of viewers because kripparian gets like 30k viewers no matter what he streams, the tournaments don't have much viewers though, no more than SC2.
