Yea voting late and saying little gives little room to work with.
Another strategy I'm wondering why hasn't been used is feigning inactivity when ure Mafia.
Since you only get mod-killed if u miss 2 votes in a row, u miss every other vote to minimize vote trend analysis on u and make u seem like ure not v involved in the game n stay under the radar
Ofc it wouldn't work for me cos I'm gonna have a target on my back eventually regardless of what I do, and if anyone is thinking of using it in the future.. EXPOSED.

First, it's not fun. The whole point of the game is to be involved and have fun along. If you want to replenish your winning desire cuz you suck on ladder, mafia isn't for you. Second, it's not exactly fair. If you are inactive for whatever reason, you are not respecting your teammates' or opposing players' involvement into the game, and basically say "I don't give a ****". Which isn't a right attitude in any form of team and social game.

You know in retrospect it doesn't really matter if I had asked Benji to kill me or not, considering that the game would have been over before I was killed from inactivity (if they lynched me this would have happened, otherwise I would have survived the night and the one of the other mafia would have won).
Could have at least made this a little bit more interesting so sorry guys T_T, didn't know I would have internet since I'm not in a hotel and the place where I'm staying doesn't have any.
It seems that you've barely understood the strategy or its manifestations before launching into your little tirade against it. Allow me to elaborate.
Firstly, this strategy came to mind after noting how every round, certain players inexplicably have to miss votes (because of RL events, etc), and as a result they get to dodge the bullet because of the flawed logic that inactive = not mafia when the mafia is shown to be actively killing at night
(this actually did occur in a previous round)
Next, feigning inactivity does not necessarily mean a lower involvement in the game - you may even be posting much more than others! You are only missing alternate votes, thus this could mean that you ARE actively discussing on rounds which you are voting (which is already more than what a majority of players currently do), but conveniently disappear on certain rounds (citing 'real life events' )
Third, to be clear what the benefits of this strategy is - It reduces the chance of you being targeted by vote trend analysis, which you have to admit is a main tool of analysis in this game.
Of course, if everyone starts doing it, it's going to cheapen the game and reduce the overall enjoyment of everyone, so some rule could be implemented to prevent this - e.g. Redefine inactivity from just 'missing 2 consecutive votes' to 'missing 2 consecutive votes AND/OR missing a total of 3 votes in the entire game'.
Finally, it must be clear that I do not endorse inactivity, which should be evident in my personal playstyle. It's obvious that the best way to win is to stay under the radar for a good portion of the game, and only start throwing out significant arguments/accusations/defences towards the latter part of the game (which is the case for all those who lasted till the end and won in prev rounds, or at least for those that I bothered staying to observe)
However, I still stake my 'life' by being involved from the beginning, as I am here to have fun and I enjoy contributing to such discussions.

More like "don't talk = nothing to cling to".

But nobody does that. Genuine busy people, who don't vote, don't talk either.
Talking is what draws attention much more than any voting patterns. If you want to stay under the radar, just don't talk. Not voting, but still actively talking is contradictory to the whole under the radar notion. Besides, there will still be other players who will throw accusations around, primarily based on previous game history and "gut feeling". And not talking = little to no suspicion. Look at SMEG.Void this round, he just voted and never talked. Never drew suspicion. Same for Skrawl.
I'm not saying your strategy won't work, it probably will, primarily because it's a forum game, and there are people who don't care about a forum game. I'm saying that there are better strategies out there, that don't involve behavior that undermines other active player's experience.
If you were at a party with friends, you wouldn't have an option to just wander off and not vote. Precisely because mafia is a social game, and revolves around an assumption that people will vote and give explanation, and where no explanation is and explanation in itself. Not voting is in essence breaking the fundamental assumed rule of the game. It's like playing Monopoly, and refusing to make a move because you know you will end up bankrupt no matter what dice combination you get.

bumping this just so this isnt forgotten. I would do the coinflip but this decides the winner and will require the use of a special coin which only Benji has.

Congrats to Skrawl and Lemminks on winning round 5!
As you can tell by my lack of activity, even with nard helping my ability to run this game is severely diminished due to commitments elsewhere. If you guys want a round 6, someone else will need to run it, however I do NOT want this game being ruined by poor role choices, which is why I will provide the number of each role for the next game, but really cannot run it in any other way.
If someone wants to run the game, PM me and I'll figure something out.
I'm just happy to be part of this game in any capacity. Especially since
I already had the opportunity of winning... Just thought I'd give back by assisting to run it
