Many of the SC2 teams and such have their own Skype channel dedicated for them so they can chat or whatever.
One thing to note is that these channels have commands associated with them, all of which can be found by typing /help into the chat window.
Now, one major thing with a chat channel is that if a couple of people are engaged in a balance discussion which you might not be apart in, or don't care about, you will get spammed by the sounds of Skype, and the notification windows etc.
There are a couple of ways to prevent this;
One would be to disable all your sound notifications, and / or your pop-up notifications as well. Two would be to set yourself on DND where you receive nothing at all.
Or Three (my personal favorite) you can type /alertsoff into the chat.
Now what this does is it acts like you're on DND, no notification popups / sounds, but for that specific channel / chat window only.
Wonderful! So now you can get the notifications you want, but not from the channel spam!
Enjoy!
@Asrathiel: It does!
Update: As Stich pointed out, you can also only receive alerts when certain keywords are said in the chat channel. This is done by typing /alertson keyword
Oh god thank you so much. I don't really like being on Busy to avoid constant notifications because then I miss things that are actually important like calls etc.
/alertsoff
/alertson maynarde ftw
Muchas gracias.
EDIT: Fixed my espanol
