Philosopher here. Some people (mGG mostly) will know that I've been worrying over some PhD applications lately. One was to the National University of Singapore and the other was to Macquarie University (Sydney). Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a place at NUS so I will be moving to Sydney in the very near future (February) to start as a Postgraduate in Philosophy (Lol!, gets it).
Looking forward to being part of the Sydney Starcraft Community. and meeting some of you that I've had discussions with over this forum, in skype chats etc.
Also if anyone has a room for rent, I'd be most appreciative
See you soon Sydney,
Philosopher

If people have tips for moving to Sydney, which suburbs are good, which are not, if they have, or know of people with rooms...with decent rent. Let me know pls I"ll be up in Sydney this weekend to check out a few places.

I attend Sydney Uni so its in a different area to macq, but every suburb can be nice and poor at the same time so its hard to say. Personal preferences for me would be glebe, newtown and surry hills. However thats more suited for Sydney uni and I don't know what the travel conditions to macq would be like.
Flatmates is a good website to have a browse or to get an indepth explore of a housing database (proper searches require signup) https://flatmates.com.au
Also good luck with the phd!

Stations that are close to Macquarie University: West Ryde, Eastwood, Epping, Macquarie University, Macquarie Park, North Ryde and Chatswood. So have a Look around these area. Not too far from Macqaurie University (Train Station Wise).
Hopefully these Website helps you out.
Good Luck
