The Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series (OSC) is the Oceanic, South East Asian, North American and Chinese regional championship, which follows a yearly season format, where players earn points for placing in all partnered tournaments.
The top 32 players ranked via the OSC Player Leader board at the end of the season are then invited to play in the 2 day minimum $5000+ Grand Finale to determine the yearly champion! OSC World Rankings were established in December 2012.

The $5000 Grand Final Series for the top 32 players will be held on Friday January 8, Saturday January 9 + Sunday 10th (7, 8+ 9th NA timezone.)
This years finals starting prizepool will be $5000 min, but we plan to work hard to make that even bigger, and be a true reflection and reward for the most active and performing SC2 players in the world! These guys will likely play in 50+ tournaments just to qualify. No invite only/reward the rich/popular system, it's all about who works hardest across the year and who can score the results!
Seeding will be vitally important come finals as well.
Top 8 players will be seeded throughout the upper bracket.
Players 9-20 will face each other in the Upper bracket (all series Bo3), and move onto face Top 8 players as they progress.
Players ranked 21-32 will start in the lower bracket, Bo5 single elim and just have the one life.
(Example using current rankings)
We will also work hard to bring more tournaments, and new partnerships to give players across the globe opportunities to qualify, as well as supporting our local regions and core player base. We are going to pay YOU to play in 2015!!

ESCL In 2014 OSC partnered tournaments gave away $29691 combined prizepool, ($ bounties, Terran Bonus initiative, Invitationals, and LAN events were not included in this!), we had 155 completed partnered tournaments (up from 77 last year, which equates to 100% growth), and saw 358 individual players with points earned (up from 138 in 2013 = 159% growth)
You can show your support towards OSC, and help us put on events for the community for just $8 USD per month! One less chocolate bar/One less beer at the pub/a couple less songs on iTunes, etc, and the money goes towards supporting the scene It's quite common place for players/casters to have a subscription option on twitch tv (which isn't an option for us), and we feel we have much more to give back in terms of entertainment, competition and rewards. Subscribers are also another way we can potentially market ourselves to prospective sponsors, which in turn will result in further growth.
We also provided supporters with bonuses such as event replay packs, and chance to win 1 hour of coaching from top tier players.
OSC Sponsors!
Without these companies contributing to our tournament it's fair to say the prizepool would be far smaller. But it's not just about the $'s. All these companies have a long history of supporting Starcraft 2 and esports in SEA. They care about the scene and our community. So many thanks to them all! If you esports fans, players etc can send them some love and thanks for supporting SC2 + the Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series it would be appreciated in return. They all are leaders in their industry, so if it comes down to a choice between brands, pick these guys who support esports!

ETL almost Top 4 in the Participation Points. Cuddles used to be in ETL so yeah let's call it a win and say that ETL produces the most dedicated tournament players.
EDIT: I said you would have been removed. But it doesn't change the fact that you used to be in ETL.

Lel i didnt hear about this when i got suspended its good to hear about it now and not on the day or the proper announcement of what i actually get. ^.^
Unless its just cause i cant play atm if we could verify that please?
Literally no point to play in a Tournament in australia, apart from ACL now because either way i cant win money even at the end of the tournaments, for the big global tournaments.
-Both players will be ineligible for potential $ participation point prizes and sponsorship, but still can acquire points towards future rankings after their suspension.

That's really up to you how you perform in tournaments. On recent form you should be confident.
And as for OSC Finals, every player will be paid!

Thats cute.
Dunno why you're complaining, you've got just yourself to blame.
This years finals starting prizepool will be $5000 min
by this you mean the osc finals at the end? $5000 wow eddie where do you get all this money haha. very excited and glad to see how far osc has come in a fairly short amount of time in the grand scheme of things.
Always super impressed with your OSC work Eddie!!!!
Thanks.
Big shout out to Elusory + Namakaye for all their help with OSC!

Yes end of year finals.
We have some great sponsors, and i'll save up + put aside some money for it. Plus we will continue to grow, and build on this even further. I'd like to see ~$10k
BTW is there a year end award for 1st or mostly for seeding?
Currently all prizes and $'s are being directed to the end of season finals, and not for final rankings. However once we reach our target prizepool, we can look to expand rewards to season rankings, or perhaps look at giving out hardware prizes or something to that effect.
As mentioned earlier, everyone who finishes in the top 32 at the end of the year, and plays in the finals will be paid!
Seeding is also important/a reward, as players who finish in the top 8, can't be eliminated first round. For example if 7/8th lost both their series they'd still finish 17/20th overall, if 3/4/5/6th lost both their series they'd still finish 12/16th overall, and if 1st/2nd lost both their series they'd still finish 5/6th overall, so these players would be guaranteed an increased $ reward from the first round.
Eddie, just want to say that you're absolutely incredible. The work you've put in for OSC is immense and you deserve the highest amount of praise possible from each member of the community for what you do. Thank you
We have seen the rise of Petraeus straight into the top 16!
ByuN dominate Leifeng Cups, moving into 22nd place.
Spear earning a variety of tournament wins, moving into 4th.
Azure is still the most active player with 62 tournaments, but PSiArc is the biggest mover over the last few weeks, now up to 55.
Remember final ranking will be important for finals position.
Top 8 will be seeded at different stages through the upper bracket.
9-22th will start in the upper bracket (2 lives)
23-32nd will start in the lower bracket - single elimination
Bly and Dream fall out of the top 32, replaced by Solar and Seither
Azure is still the most active player with 82 tournaments, but PSiArc is now only 1 behind him!
With the news of LOTV being released in early November, our end of year finals will be played with that expansion. Finals should be around mid December, which allows ~1 month for players to transition, in addition to beta practice.
With WCS, SEAcraft, Masters Cups, Leifeng Cups and most of our partnered tournaments having wrapped up Heart of the Swarm tournaments, to either swap to Legacy of the Void Beta, or awaiting LOTV release, OSC will move follow suit, and award points to partnered LOTV Beta events.
Some of you may have noticed on the sites home page, the LOTV countdown is on, and the full game is only 4 weeks away! In that time we may only see 3-4 minor balance updates, as the Beta has been running ~6months, and would be close to the actual release design. Having talked first hand with a lot of players recently, who have expressed their eager anticipation for LOTV, and indicated they have been focuing on playing the beta now > hots tournaments. We will support them in achieving such goals and practice. Additionally our 2015 finals will be played in LOTV, so it's not a bad idea for players to get as much practice as they can for that, and tournament experience.
Current active LOTV tournaments:
Leifeng Cups
ASL Bacon Infinity Weekly Cup
Masters Cups
