Hey guys, just a quick intro for background info - I am going on exchange to Boston, US, next semester (Late August/Early Sept), and I plan on staying in off-campus housing for 4-5 months.
Thus I have quite a few questions that I was hoping some more experienced 'travellers' may have answers to.
1) What are the best resources to locate housing in Boston?
I am currently using craigslist but not finding anything good. I'm ideally looking for a 4br apartment for the 4 of us going there, but if we really can't find one we'll settle with a 3br or a 2br apartment (split up).
2) How reliable are these resources?
I would suppose most of such housing requires some downpayment - I've heard of many scams and the such over craigslist. Any tips for safely securing housing, apart from actually going down there to do a physical transaction?
I'm pretty sure I have more questions and I'll think of them as time goes by, but feel free to throw in any tips regarding living abroad for an extended period, especially in Boston / USA! Thanks a lot!
