Community Fun day + Finals Fundraiser Sat + Sun Dec 13/14
Saturday 4pm-Monday 3am
13 December 2014 16:00 PM AEDTCountdown to 13th December 4pm!
Community Fun-Day
It's been an awesome year for the Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series and the SEA region. We've seen many great games, players do well in WCS, travel and stay abroad, $ bounties, inclusion of Chinese players into our scene, and a lot of fun tournaments. Partnered tournaments have given away $26191 combined prizepool! There's been 154 completed tournaments, and 358 individual players with points earned. The competition for points has been intense, and it's all been building up to our end of year OSC regional finals!
To celebrete the end of the season, we will be running a special community fun day featuring several SEA pro players and personalities. From 4pm AEDT on Saturday 13 Dec - 3am Monday we will be streaming their ladder sessions, free coaching, community custom games/monobattles/arcade/lotv mod stuff, Q&A, show matches, etc.
If anyone else is interested in contributing their time or helping out in some way, post below (with times available), or contact Eddie, Elusory or Namakaye asap and we'll see if we can fit you in. Thanks to all who are volunteering their time!
Pt.2 Fundraiser to boost Grand Finale Prizepool
Second reason for running this fun day is we're hoping the community can chip in towards the prizepool. All money goes to the players. We want to make this as big as possible, and a true reflection on the years season. All top 32 players will be paid! Several of the SEA pro's will be taking time out of their day, schedule, and potential earnings to give back to the community. While not a requirement, we are hoping some of those who can spare a few dollars will give back to these guys. A spare $10, $20 all adds up! In addition any donation of $25 AUD or more will have exclusive access to all replays from the seasons finals. Donations are open now, and will close on Dec 16th.
We hope you will tune in sometime throughout the weekend, join us for some games, and show your support to the players, this tournament, and our scene. Most of all, have some fun watching sc2!
Any ideas for activities/games for the day are also welcomed.
Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series
The Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series (OSC). The Oseanic StarCraft 2 Championship Series (OSC) is the Oceanic, South East Asian and Chinese regional championship, which follows a yearly season format, where players earn points for placing in all partnered tournaments. (Only around the top 10-25% gain points from each tournament). The top 32 players ranked via the OSC Player Leader board at the end of the season are then invited to play in the 2 day minimum $3000+ Grand Finale to determine the yearly champion!
Eddie, I tried to send a few minerals to the showmatch proposed by Insano, but used the Donate button which apparently was not the right one. I thought it all went to the same fund and then distributed accordingly.
Still looking for anyone who might be interested in streaming in the following time slots:
Sat night 11-1am
Sunday morning 1-3am
Sunday afternoon 12-2pm
Sunday night 10-1am
*Times AEDT.

The Legacy of the Void Mod Invitational already has a set prizepool of $50 which is pretty cool! Did you mean to add to that?
That mini tournament is part of a larger day, in the hopes of boosting our Grand Finale tournament.
We are also doing a fun RvR tourny, FFA tourny, and some SEA pros and personalities will be streaming towards this cause.
I've just made a donation to Dragon during his stream and asked him to check OSC tournament's page and stuff with everybody watching, lol. Advertisement rulez.
*** UPDATING:
Dragon just opened the OSC Finals page with his stream live (had around 900 viewers at the time). I saved the desktop video with ShadowPlay (had it prepared to capture while editing a video). I will make it available in a googledrive in a few minutes.

We've seen some good and entertaining games already this afternoon
Right now the RvR tournament is under way, which is part of a marathon 7 hour stream by Metalcore!
First off i'd like to give massive thanks to Nemesis and Elusory who helped out so much, hosting the sc2sea stream and being active in chat.
I'd also like to give a big thanks to Metalcore who did something like 11-12 hours streaming, and Insano who'd be in that same ballpark, and who additionally ran the LOTV tournament, which was the highlight of the weekend!
Thanks also to all those who donated! Money will be added to the prizepool.
Thanks to everyone else who streamed, watched, joined in the fun and games!

Donations from the weekend didn't quite hit the target we had in mind.
There's a few reasons for this. Quite a few of our 'big name' players didn't help out for various reasons (which is disappointing. They have the most to gain by helping), so we didn't quite have the viewer drawing power. Additionally, no one attached themselves to the TL live event, so it only showed the sc2sea stream, which as it was hosting, only showed the people on the sc2sea channel, not whoever was streaming, eg Insano had 200+ for LOTV tournament, but TL only displayed sc2sea as having 13.
However we did have people donate before our fun day weekend, so that added to the funds raised comes to a nice total
Before weekend: $375
Weekend: $277
Total: $652
It wasn't just about the money though, hopefully everyone had plenty of fun.
Thanks again! Next weekends two day OSC Grand Finale is going to be awesome, see you then!
The games were early in the morning here, so I woke up and tuned in while having breakfast. :P
Both were quite fun, thanks a lot to the players for providing entertainment.
Even the smallest donations help keep sc2sea running! All donations go towards helping our site run including our monthly server hosting fees and sc2sea sponsored community tournaments we host. Find out more here.
