The Interview
What was your favourite event of 2012?
My favourite event of 2012 was WCS Australia/Oceania, playing in a booth in front of a packed audience with Tastosis casting. Hearing the crowd's cheers really made it feel very special.
What did you gain from your overseas experiences?
It has given me a lot more motivation to improve, made me realise that I have to work harder so I can perform well on the international stage.
For many people, your WCS matches against tgun were the first time you displayed emotion. What insight can you give into your mindset when you're playing an important match?
I try to block out everything else and just focus on the game, I should really only be thinking about winning and nothing else.
Does the fact that you are representing the SEA scene and Team Immunity weigh on you at all when you play overseas?
Yeah, there's a lot of pride on the line to perform well. Representing my team and SEA is really important to me.
In the lead up to a tournament, what is your practice regime like? Do you find yourself preparing builds for specific players?
Since in the majority of the tournaments that I play in I face a lot of regular players so I have to mix it up a lot. There's a lot of metagaming and thought going into it so when I'm practicing I try to learn a variety of strats and builds to prepare for my opponents in tournaments.
What do you find to be the most effective method of improving your game?
Discussing the game with your peers really helps, getting advice from others who are better will improve your game and also just playing a lot.
What are your goals for 2013?
Well in 2012, I didn't win any major tournaments. Mostly just 2nd places (ACL Melb, AEC Tokyo, WCS Oceania) so I want to change that for 2013. My goal is to be a champion and win them. I need to train a lot harder because there's plenty of competition nowadays, for example Petraeus has improved so much. About 4 months ago I would beat him without trying but now If I didn't play my best I'd probably lose. There are a few others I have to watch out for other than just Moonglade now. 2013 should be an exciting year.
Love the idea behind the series and looking forward to tguns and lights. I agree with Kez, lets ask the meaty questions and find out about the Mafia most people don't know. More personal questions and stuff!
e.g
