The Shock Spin -
I'd like to think i have some experience when it comes to headphones as i've been through quite a lot in my time, trying to find the right headset for me. So when i had a chance to test another one for free i jumped at it!
Anyway on to the Shockspin. At a glance i find the appearance to be most appealing, with cool looking fan like design on the sides making it look like a "spin" effect. When i took it out of the package, i first noticed how big the headset is. While this isn't necessarily bad thing it's a thing to note as people like different things. I myself am currently used to canalphones so any kind of headset is big for me :P. While the headset is big, it is very light, all made of a light but (seems) sturdy plastic except for the earpads which are very soft, but made of a material that picks up hair and dust easy (unfortunately this seems to happen with a lot of headsets).
After plugging it in and putting the headset on, i found it to be quite comfortable and noticed it has it's own volume control connected to the cable, as some other headphones I've used do, i guess this is a plus if you need that bit of extra sound. Using the headphones for music and gameplay i found the sound to be very well rounded with no problems. After a while i also found the cord to be easily twisted and mangled so that's something to look out for, take care of the cord :P.
This headset also comes with a microphone, unfortunately it's one of the clip on mics which i found really uncomfortable to use. But it seemed to pick up sound easily enough, so i guess if clip on mics are your cup of tea then good!
Pros:
Well rounded sound
Looks great
Comfy
Light
Cons:
Cord ruins easy
Earpads dirty easy
Clip on mic (though i guess this is preference)
When it comes to finding the perfect mouse, the best advice I can give is to try to find one that fits perfectly into your hand. For me, my previous mouse (Steelseries Xai) felt like it fit perfectly in my hand, plus had a nice amount of features. I wasn't expecting the Saphira mouse to be the one I'd prefer to use. I was wrong. After using the mouse for long laddering sessions on sc2, I found it to be the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.
The Saphira mouse is a pretty big mouse, which works extremely well for me as I prefer the more relaxed palm grip on a mouse over a claw grip. It has a ton of features, including adjustable weights, adjustable backlighting, four dpi settings and buttons on the bottom of the mouse to change anything on the fly. It also has two macro buttons on the left side of the mouse that are not only out of the way of a right hander's thumb, but also in a very accessable position of the mouse. After setting the dpi to be the same as my previous mouse, I found that the mouse was close to equally sensitive as my previous one.
The only real problem I've found is in the software of the mouse. For example, if you change the backlighting settings, then change anything else afterwards, the backlighting will reset to be all turned off again, so you have to repeat the process.
Overall, the Saphira mouse I find to be brilliantly designed. It has everything I'd want in a mouse.
Oh, and the pulsating backlighting of the ttesports logo looks badass as well.
Pros:
Fits well in my hand
Looks awesome
Glides well along mousepads
Has a TON of adjustable features
Strong cable
Cons: The software for the mouse isn't too user friendly
Hey guys this is my review for the ShockSpin Headsets by TT esports. I can't say i have had a huge history of wearing headsets like glade has so when i got sent out these headsets i was a little bit like a kid in a candy store and may have squealed at one point or another.
Down to business: First impressions
The first thing to note as you unpack the headsets is the packaging. It isn't stuck to a flimsy piece of plastic or just thrown in a box but rather beautifully presented in shape hugging plastic with all the cords, software etc nicely separated. A small thing but something that got me excited right away
The Contents: A couple of things immediately stood out to me. Firstly the clip on mic. This is probably my biggest criticism as im a big fan of just standard inbuilt mic's that fold away or feed into the headset itself like with the Siberia V2's. This being said it seemed to pick up sound really well so if clip on's are your thing the mike is more then functional and picked up my voice easily and had no issues with volume once i calibrated it to where i had it sitting on my desktop.
Next came the headset itself: Visually it looks good however to me it seemed quite big especially compared to the Siberia V2's (the only other headset i have real exp with) and also bearing in mind i have a really small head. However i was really surprised with just how light it was and how well it sat on my head. As i normally wear glasses when i play i have experienced discomfort with other headsets over long periods however the Spin Shocks sat really nicely and without discomfort for sessions reaching over 4 hours in length.
With respect to the performance of the headset itself the sound was great. As a player who, perhaps to a fault, relies heavily on game sounds the shock spins were fantastic. Whether it was sc2 or just listening to music the quality was defiantly in line with the price you pay.
Misc: The cord was really long which for me was great as i was able to feed it to my audio ports which are perhaps further then average away. sound control on the headset cord with the mic control seperate.
Overall: These are a great all around headset
pros: cord length, good sound quality, very comfortable, nice packaging
neg: clip on mic, cord length (could be a little overkill for others but was good for me)
The first thing I noticed when I got the Theron out of the box was something so simple and yet so awesome I have to note this down here first. They give you a strap that goes around your cord so that stuff doesn't get mangled. This made me start to think that someone had put a lot of thought into this mouse. I was completely right. The ergonomics of this mouse were simply amazing. The Razer Deathadder in which I was using before this always felt a little big for peoples comparison. The Theron is smooth on top that feels a lot more natural than the Razer Deathadder which makes you arc your hand leading to a nicer grip on the Theron.
The one thing I was concerned with was that the sensitivity buttons were on the top of the mouse and couldn't be locked. Although I've since played about 50 games with the Theron and havn't had an issue with this but is something thats in the big of my mind
Loading up the disc into the computer for the set up was very straight forward. The booklets on how to get started where helpful and clear. I had no real issues here apart from the realisation that the mouse dpi setting where set at levels. This meant I couldn't put it at what my Deathadder mouse was and go straight off and play. This is something I think Ttesports should change about the Theron mouse.
The Theron also has 5 profiles with different coloured lights so if you want to have different settings per game you can. You can also set the mouse up so that it has a battle mode so you can flip between sensitivity and buttons to do things quickly which I'm sure would be handy for fps games.
Overall I think this is an excellent mouse and would recommend this to people who are looking for a new gaming mouse. I myself am now using this as my main mouse as I believe it is the best mouse I have.
Positives
Ergonomics is excellent fits my hand perfectly
Colour change with profile
Strap aroung the cords
Negative
DPI settings are standard ones (5 levels) so doesn't go to what you want if off another mouse
The sensitivity buttons are on top and don't lock so it worrys me
My rating 8.5/10
I'l try to upload some photos in a few days when I get a camera to show size. Thank you to Ttesports for giving me this opportunity.
Firstly I would like to thank Mayo for giving me the opportunity to review the MEKA G1 for TtEsports.
From day dot to now I have only ever used the generic Microsoft or Logitech keyboards for gaming, this is my very first mechanical keyboard so I can't make comparisons to other ones such as Filcos or what not apart from what I have heard from word of mouth. What I can say though is that I have been missing out on a whole new level of gaming.
Installing was a piece of cake, just plug the cords in and everything does itself automatically and you're good to go so nothing to worry about there. My first thoughts was how different pressing keys felt, it's a different feeling to a normal keyboard and for the first few days my hands were not used to it and my fingers got sore after just a few hours of playing, but the soreness passes just as anything - you get used to it. This keyboard is a beast and makes gaming on it a pleasure, the accuracy and speed from this keyboard was amazing. It uses Cherry MX Black switches which are designed for gaming and offer great responsiveness. I never hit a key that I wasn't meant to which usually happens to me with new keyboards.
I can see myself staying on this keyboard for a long time, or until it breaks (which I think will never happen with how sturdy it is). Not only does it feel like it's going to last a lifetime but it looks great and perfectly suits the rest of my computer setup having red as the general light scheme.
I definitely recommend the MEKA G1 for anybody who has not had a mechanical keyboard before or anybody not happy with their current one as I am very pleased with it.
Pros
- Great responsiveness
- Strong sturdy build
- On-board USB hub and audio jacks
- Looks good
- Small enough to fit in my bag without sticking out/falling out
Cons
- Only Cherry MX black switches available
- After long periods of time I find that my hands get a bit tired
