28th January 2012
Another week down and we see another v grand final. This week, the victor was the zerg however with WOMBO taking the set 3 - 1 over the protoss refluX with a mix of styles demonstrating strength with early busts as well as macro style. Congratulations WOMBO and refluX and thank you for putting on a great show for the grand final.
My thanks go out to everyone who played this week for keeping the tournament running smoothly and not causing me any admin headaches
I hope to see you all again in the upcoming tournament. Check the OP for updated details or just click here and sign up.
The brackets get created when the tournament starts at 8pm Sydney time on Saturday when all the sign ups and check-ins are finalised.
The matchups are randomly generated and the brackets will be easily accessible through the tournament site. Here are last week's brackets if you want to have a look Asrathiel or I (Suipr) will always be there to help you out on the night if you can't find anything or need help and one of us posts the link in chat to the brackets page to make it easier for everyone once they're generated.
gah....i got promoted to plat just today...and im wondering if i am still eligible for this tournament? i signed up before i promoted...just this morning XD~ maybe just this once? if im not then its fine, no worries
Hi guys.
Just a quick note to say that since there is so much interest this week, I bumped up the numbers to 64 players and made the first two rounds best of one to make sure we don't go too late.
Make sure to spread the word in your clans and on ladder so that we still get close to full Sign up here
Also, I don't know what's going on with the InVisioN guys' tournament; I figured from the info that it was a one off thing and I assume it's still on. You should join up over here if you're interested in playing it also this weekend - http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=3514 Next week (February 11th tournament) we're leaving z33k to go fully SC2SEA so that we can be renamed to the official SC2SEA BSG and you guys can get your "tournaments joined" tracker increasing and get some recognition on the site for your wins. I still welcome you to use the z33k platform for your own tournaments. I know from experience it's quite easy to use.
I trust the transition to SC2SEA will go smoothly and you will all join me in moving with no complaints
See you on Saturday.

Four hours until the tournament starts
Three hours until check in is open.
Could be a record crowd tonight, keep up the good work spreading the word.
Don't be so busy that you forget to check in though.
Congratulations to both Welshy and Illumis for fighting their way through the tournament and making it a rematch of the Jan 21st grand final tonight!
Both players showed strong play all tournament with hard-fought macro wins sprinkled with cheese culminating in an awesome display of zerg aggression from Welshy held off by equally excellent defense and counter-offense from Illumis. Illumis taking the grand final win 2 - 0.
In a surprising twist, both guys played mirror matchups in the semi finals playing what I believe to be the standout games of the tournament. Quite a rarity for ZvZ and PvP. You can view the Venom and Suipr live cast recording here and final brackets can be found here
Thank you to all players and as many of you already know, I'm very excited to be moving the tournament to the sc2sea.com bracket system next week meaning Asrathiel and I will be hosting the Official SC2SEA BSG #35!
Hope to see you all there
Well done both Welshy and Illumis. I played Welshy in the quarters and he played very very well, I was just sorry that my games weren't awesome for viewers watching the stream, I was getting pretty tried lol.
Still even at my best I dont think I would of taken the series, or at the least I would of had to of played perfectly.
Asylum thanks for running the event, it was a lot of fun
