Iris Zerg player Mackenzie 'Petraeus' Smith announced his departure from the New Zealand team. Only a week later he left for Tokyo. While he has yet to officially comment on prospects of a new team he will be representing only himself in Japan. Iris remains a stable team despite his departure but decided it was best for both parties to go their separate ways. The Asia Esports Cup which will be played at the Tokyo Game Show runs from 20-22nd September where Petraeus will face off against some of Asia's finest players, including iMMafia, RedArchon, FlashBlitz and GamaniaSen. Two of New Zealand's top players, NvJazBas and Petraeus have qualified for EB Expo to be held in Sydney during October. The winner of the event will then travel to the Electronic Sports World Cup in France. They will compete with Australia's best SCII players for the spot during the 16 player event. The EB Expo runs from October 5-7th with both Zerg players practicing hard to take on the Aussies and once again represent New Zealand on the world stage.
