Recently I've been getting involved in casts and getting involved in clans with practices, training, and whatever. I also just got in diamond league, but today I noticed I've been spending way too much time on SC2, and not really caring a lot about school. I'm not a very good caster, yet I'm also not a good player at starcraft. I swore to myself that I would stop the playing and instead just spend minimal time on casting.
Now I'm wondering if its a good decision made by me.
Should I put all my effort into casting? Even though I'm not a known caster around SEA? Or should I just play and quit casting?
Sorry for those of you that don't really care. I just want some opinions if any of you have had to make these decisions before!
dels awards are in his head, Keep casting man, they talk about stuff like this on state of the game (recently in pax) and how day9, husky, jp and all of them got well know is they just did it, they didnt ask anyone or get suggestions.
I wouldn't be surprised if you where a fat **** loser that tries to bring other's down because your self esteem is so low and you can't achieve jack shit in life.
Also how did you get that community builder achievement with posts like that. I ******* hate idiots like you, who try bring others down because you can't achieve **** all in life.
If you don't give a **** about his thread, DONT POST IN IT. ******* retard.
Stitch has a way better voice than Kelly and she casted the gsl, all he needs is experience and he will become one of the best casters in the world. His voice is perfect for it.
You're good at casting mate. Just because you don't have 300,000 subscribers like Husky or HD doesn't mean your bad. It just means that you haven't gotten the breakthrough like they have.
Maybe you should take a step back from what you doing and remember why you're casting and playing Starcraft 2. For the fun of the game. A few days ago i played 13 ladder games and lost 10 ...... It was so frustrating but I took a step back and just chilled and played fun games with the TA guys. Straight away I got back into Starcraft 2 and loved it again.
So my advice for you is, spend less time playing so much Starcraft 2 and get some study habits going. So like, study for a few hours and then you'll realise how much you hate studying and love Starcraft LOL! And don't cast because you want to be big in the world (huge assumption from me) but cast because you enjoy casting.

Try to find a balance in it all. Do school, it's important. Do sc2 as well if it is your passion. !!
Do you like casting / playing a lot? If you do, then continue. But make sure you don't fail school too!! ^-^V

Really good casters are the ones who can spare the time to play online. They tell you (and can even predict) about the current or new styles of players, and make far fewer mistakes reading the game and telling the audience about it. Never give up on playing, imo. If you don't have time to play, watch streams of others playing.
nah just allocate your time and be strict with your self set times where you do your all your sc2 stuff as for being a good caster or not i dont really know anything about casting but i like casters that make me laugh that might be just me tho. but in the end do what makes you happy
Time management. This is what you really need at e moment. As you have said, you need more time studying. There are 3 things fighting for your time right now. Studying, playing sc2 and casting games.
For example, on weekdays, you will study first and then allocate some spare time to playing sc2. Something like 3hours studying and 1hr of playing sc2. No casting at all. Do all your casting on weekends. That will mean no playing normally and just casting and editing your casts (if they are not live.)
Judging from your post, you seem to be suffering from a burnout of hvaing too much sc2. Take the next week off sc2 and do all your other stuff that you have thrown away since playing sc2. It will help a lot.

To open.....ahem... del your a ****** asshole. No one really cares about you either..... your players are gold, your just shit. You talk like your a god when in reality you have the same amount of respect as an insane hobo who won the lottery and decided to build a house out of golden bricks but used faeces as cement. **** you.
Now for some actual constructive conversation. Stitch if you believe sc2 is taking too big of a toll on your real life, then limit your time or quit all together. If you want to become successful in this game as a player you have to dedicate so much time that a student just simply doesn't possess. Also if you have any doubts that gaming in general is making you miss out on real life then quit. In a couple of years time this game won't matter, the players won't matter and you would of wasted some of the best years of your life. Once a game dies your skill doesn't transition into anything useful ...except maybe typing skills and problem solving. Imagine if you spent 40+ hrs a week with another hobby that you could actually use later on in life. If you want to be successful ( not mediocre SEA region successful) then you have to accept the fact that you will have the same personality and sex appeal as an old boot. In regards to your casting as a hobby, i think this is actually a great idea if your worried sc2 is taking up too much time. You can just load up a replay and start whenever you have free time. You won't be the best caster in the world straight away, its like going from bronze to masters but if you want to do something then **** everyone else, do it because you want to do it.
ps. i was in masters until i quit sc2 a couple of months ago now and im lovin life no regrets, so i may be biased. del choke on my seamen.

He has 2 'teams', in 1, his team has undoubtably the best play on SEA who came 3rd at IEM competed in GSL code A and has almost racked up enough achievements to be compared to legionnaires bw run. In the other, we have several players that are better than every single player in yours, stop talking shit.
Also WOW at all these people asking how deL got the community building award, the guy has done more for australian starcraft than anyone in the last 3 years (both bw and sc2), without him the bw scene would've been deader than a doorknob and without him we wouldnt of had any of the beta tournaments or release tournaments Australia/SEA had early on. With sc2sea taking a front seat and him now being busy with FXO stuff, he's not doing the RIDICULOUS amount he used to do for Aus/SEA sc2, but anyone questioning if he deserves the award is totes a vintage classic pelican.
As for his actual post here, i agree with it, no one cares if you're thinking about maybe quitting the game bro. If you're a well known member (which it seems you somewhat are), then sure, post a goodbye thread to everyone whatever... But this thread is basically "Yo im gonna maybe leave unless you guys tell me im really good at casting", you're compliment fishing worse than most women i know. Pointless thread.
EDIT: Is that also how you got your community builder award deL?
I certainly didn't get it making useless threads fishing for compliments about my casting (if you were serious about this thread why on earth would you advertise your commentary - do you think someone is going to go OMG U HAV SO MUCH POTENTIAL U R NEXT HUSKY DON'T GO!?). I also didn't get it by encouraging terrible threads by giving half-arsed, vague responses that don't give an answer and don't matter anyway.
Just quit no one will miss you in a week and you will have a lot of spare time. If you have to consider quitting, then it means you should just do it.

My players? lol? First of all how are they my players - I am part of the team they are friends more than anything I don't even take care of clanwars now, second of all what do they have to do with anything? Also sweet hobo analogy you blew my mind, what's next are you gonna call me a silly billy? Spare me your lashings.

Thanks for the comments everybody, I'll try to balance work and sc2 as much as I can as Kelly said.
As for deL and Pinder, i don't really care about what you guys think about me. I'm not complaining nor am I advertising. I purely want some advice because I know there are some great players and casters in this forum with great experience and I just hope they could give me the advice. But it looks like you two really aren't the types of players anybody should be going to for some useful advice. deL, who are you to judge what matters and what not? Idc if it doesn't matter to you or Pinder - cuz it definitely matters to me. If you think its a useless thread, go talk to the admins and tell them to remove it. Posting it here won't affect me and it won't benefit your naive mind.
This post shall be a double edged sword so be warned!
Stitch I fully sympathize with how your feeling at the moment, I have exactly the same drawbacks which is very frustrating, the best you can do is prioritize. Obviously your school/RL commitments must come first as they do with me there is no shame in only being able to do a certain amount in sc2. just do what you can and it will all seem better.
now to the other side :O
While i semi agree with del/pinder your response has turned my next words from" they were trolling man chill". to you just made a fool of yourself.

You couldnt be more offpoint if you tried. Del created the tournament scene in SEA no tournament with more than $50 was not run by del, even the SEASL i will bet $$ that nirvana consulted with him about it. Pinder while not the absolute best player in SEA you will find no better coach simply because of his experience and interaction with all the top level players.
You want to know how i became a good enough caster to be picked up by FXOpen who are about to dump millions of $$ into SC2 the caster who Pheonix/kelly pretty much any mainstream SEA caster comes to for advice/help, do you REALLY want to know.... when i first started casting guess who were the first 2 people i went to for feedback about my casts. ill give you 1 guess....................
It looks like I just troll this site and try to ruin it but if you look carefully it's mostly in response to idiots or useless threads and therefore for the benefit of the site and it's members. When they take the bait it usually proves the point.
I don't think it's a stupid question as I think most of us have tossed up whether to put so much time and effort into it but not every person makes a ******* attention-seeking thread about it rofl.
