What began as a casual drink for gamers in a quiet bistro in Seattle in the northern spring of 2011 has grown exponentially into a craze that has united communities of gamers throughout the world.
… And now the global phenomenon known Barcraft is in Adelaide!
Adelaide , get ready to kick back in style - cold beer in hand - and watch the GSL grand finals on the big projector screen complete with surround sound and bar TVs. The room spills out onto the beer garden for chilling out between games, and smokers are welcome here too. Being opposite the famous Central Markets, the Metro’s food is great and there are snacks, full meals and desserts available from midday until 8.30pm. Our generous hosts Damien and Brett are enthusiastic about Barcraft and are always keen to help.
So spread the word - Barcraft is here in Adelaide, and it’s here to stay!
Since the foundation of Barcraft Adelaide we have expanded from the back room to the bar where multiple TVs throughout the venue show the matches. A main projector will be setup in the main room (unfortunately it's quality is less than ideal)
Under 18'swill be allowed entry.
Legally you need to be accompanied by a guardian but he is happy for us to be the responsible adults to look after you. As a result you don't need to bring your parent's with you however any bullshit and you're out.
The Metro has a bar we will be able to utilise to purchase drinks. We sometimes are provided with various quantities of complimentary drink cards from the bar. Through competitions on the night we will hand them out.
There are plenty of parking lots around the CBD but do note some of them close early in the night like 8pm and also will likely cost you a pretty penny. There are multiple bus stops just outside the Metropolitan and you can also catch the Tram to Victoria Square and walk ~500m)
If anybody is interested in sponsoring please contact Baldie on skype (bradley_baldwin). If we get some cash flow we can make the space look really nice or perhaps door prizes etc could be organised. Again we can cover costs ourselves but everybody loves sponsors!
Mafia's first streamed game is scheduled for 2pm Adelaide time. Any chance you might be set up early so we can watch it?
Due to the Metro having some other activities on and both Simon and I being unavailable earlier in the day the time has been set for 4.30pm on Saturday. The earliest we could setup would be 3.15pm but even then unsure if we'd be able to have it running.
Unfortunately you will all have to watch the man from your home and come down later to celebrate his win
And 27 hours til Barcraft... Our double-feature this weekend will cover (up to) 8 hours of group play on Saturday, plus half the Ro16, all the quarter finals, semi's and GF on Sunday!
