The 2013 Pro Circuit has kicked off and ACL is proud to announce its second Starcraft 2 Online Round! This tournament will reward participants with valuable season points that will put high placing players in the best position coming into our first Live event of 2013. So warm up your micro and get gaming in preparation for a very important event!
Day/Time: Date: Saturday the 2nd of March Time: 12:30PM - 10.30PM AEDT
I will say on behalf of ACL all other dates were considered. We appreciate it is a busy week for SEACL and there are multiple events on the same day of the event.
We looked at all our options and this appeared to be the most viable based on a variety of internal and external reasons. Sorry in advance for those players affected and we will of course try our hardest to avoid such clashes in the future. It is a very busy period of time for Starcraft 2.
Just wondering how points were calculated from the online round 1. Since i finished equal 13th on the bracket but i am 16th in points.
For situations where multiple players finish on the same position within a bracket, the following procedure is used to separate the players.
Rule 1: The player with a higher map score ratio (ie: 7-4 as opposed to 6-3) will receive the highest rank Rule 2: Should players be on an equal map score ratio, if they played each other at some point in the tournament, whoever was victorious in that set will take the highest rank Rule 3: Should neither Rule 1 or 2 apply, whoever had the higher seeding coming into the tournament will receive the highest rank Note: Winning through a walkover earns 0 map wins.
To answer your question: You placed equal 13th according to the tournament. KingKong, SenSei, HuT and yourself all had different map score ratios. You had the lowest of the four and thus took the lowest tied position.
If teams need to schedule SEACL matches that evening and players remain in the bracket for ACL and need to play in SEACL, is there any allowances that ACL will make or work in conjunction with SEACL admins to allow players to participate in both events?
We may very well have to schedule SEACL matches for Saturday evening, I don't want to be forced into ruining players chances in SEACL or ACL online round.
Do you know the timings of the end of OR#1? - Just to assist in scheduling around this?

OR1 started at 10:30AM AEDT and finished ~7.30PM AEDT (9 hours).
We have implemented a new rule for this round as visible on the ACL website.
Quote:
10.30pm AEDT is the latest the tournament will be played to unless all players left agree to continue. If players do not agree to continue matches will be rescheduled at the earliest possible convenience. Players entering and competing in this tournament are obligated to play until AT LEAST 10.30 AEDT and if you choose to leave before this time you will be penalised.

Thanks heaps ^_^
TL;DR we will take it case by case. Running a SEACL event at the same time is a risk.
Simple fact is we will not impact the flow of the tournament to wait for SEACL matches due to the nature of a double elim tournament and the time with which it takes to complete. It will be taken case by case and if provisions can be made we will do what we can to do so.
All games are to be played on the “SEA” Battle.net Server unless instructed otherwise.
Players should remain in the chat channel “ACLPro” throughout the duration of the event to assist with hosting maps. The number of the channel will be announced on the day of each event to prevent overlap between regions.
I'm sure that's just copy and pasted from last time, but it's in the thread on the ACL site.
Hi I accidentally uninstalled SC2 whilst messing around with my system so I won't be able to play today. I apologise for the losses that I may have incurred and I shall pay with my blood if that is what it takes to retribute for my sin of messing up brackets since 2011.
