Hey, i've been having trouble with this mirror matchup. For the past week or two i've been doing a 1rax FE with varying degrees of success. It's usually much more successful vs. Terrans who like to do aggressive marine/tank pushes (for some reason) but i've had much issues with terrans that are less aggressive and more defensive.
For example on a map like delta quadrant, i scouted my opponent teching early so rather than FE i delayed it a bit to drop down an additional 2 more rax and made my push ~6 min mark to be hammered by a siegetank shell. I macro up to 5 rax and tech up to starport on my 2 base. Sometime during that i scout him and find his expo (the nat next to his base with the destructible debris). By then he's got about 7 siege tanks guarding his choke and a decently sized bio ball.
I ended up losing that game and was really stumped that i can't figure out this MU i'm usually on the defensive and it works out well that way but if it's vs. another defensive terran who turtles up and uses tank drops to shell my expansions i find myself lost as to how i can beat them.

One way to think about it is, if you both are playing a similar style, and are of more or less equal skill level, then what gives you trouble will most likely also be hard for him to deal with. Why don't you counter tank drop? Or try to do it faster lol
Most of the time, if you know a drop is coming it's easy to hold off, so improving your map awareness is key. Place buildings at the edge of your base to be able to spot them just a bit earlier, if you scout and it's obvious that there's a drop incoming, then get turrets in most vulnerable locations or try hunt the medivac with vikings. IMO turrets are totally worth it if you build them in just the right numbers, you may deny the drop or even take out the medivac + units inside if they don't react fast enough.
