[Site]sc2sea.com decals for event/tournament streams, sponsor plugging, etc.
*This is a thread in progress, we'll be posting updates as further discussion as work on it goes along*

Hola, mi gente! (and girls)
With the increase in the number of site tournaments/events happening over the last year and a whole bunch of awesome guys who have been willing to cast these events for us, the admins/mods of sc2sea.com have come up with an idea to standardize how each of these streams which are running sc2sea.com events can help the site out!
Basically, it'll boil down to these things
1. Putting up a sc2sea.com decal to state the affiliation of the event/stream
2. Putting up the official event decal/main sponsor's name on the bottom right over the unit command region to state which event the stream is currently broadcasting
3. in between games running ads/sticking up a splashscreen to plug our sponsors/the site (ie. sc2sea.com), perhaps even site related ads in future, or hell, even plugging our OWN events, like future community opens, masters cups, nation wars, seacl2 etc.
Here's the rationale for this.
1. Hey the sponsors gave us their money, we gotta make it worth it for them, as well as make them feel its well spent, and they're appreciated. (Put yourself in their shoes, whats the point of sponsoring an event if no one even knows your a sponsor, that's how it works)
2. With the addition of more and more events, we want to have a generalized theme to all of it so viewers can be led back to the site where the event came from, supposing they came from TL.net or just random blokes who surf twitch.tv/the net who happened to chance onto a sc2sea.com event stream
Decal placement guide
This is a simple diagrammatic representation of the areas to which you can stick up images/decals. I'll just briefly describe what should go where, and the full explanation as well as the decals/files/links to the images will go below.
1. Top right the standard sc2sea.com logo GOM.TV style
2. Bottom right, the main sponsor for the tournament. Biggest space, most prominence so other potential sponsors can see exposure they are getting.
3. Bottom centre left you can stick your own stuff up here even your own sponsors but make it clear they sponsor you not the tourney!
4. Bottom center right - Tournament Name - So pple know exactly what tournament this is.
5. Middle right, If its a replay - classically where you stick your own name on the stream, like how day9 does it for day9tv
So without further ado, here are the decals
1. The top right "sc2sea.com" text decal
(yep, similar to the gomtv.net one for the GSL streams), its eye-catching and it works. Basically this goes directly under the mineral and food count display at the top right hand side. It's small and doesn't really block off anything important.
Okay well the white doesn't really show up well on the forum cos of our standard pale background so here's a pic of it in action which will make it a heck load more obvious, unfortunately its not exactly on a SC2 stream though, but it was from the time when I was streaming D3 Beta! But I'm sure you guys will get the general idea.
2. The event/main sponsor decals
This is where our main event/sponsor decals go, examples of these include
1.
2.
3.
We'll make official and proper sized decals for each of the events and will provide them to all the casters before the event and we'll probably stick up a bunch of links here in future for you guys to download some xsplit templates so you guys can easily implement these! (please check back in abit, we got fellas working on them now)
Just offhand, the official site events would include SEACL, SEANW, Masters Cup, Comm Opens and we'll be looking to standardize all of these!
3. Site/event plugging
This is an absolute no brainer. Basically in between games, in the downtime, put up a splashscreen/banner/stream a video ad to plug the site, the sponsor, and our future events! We'll be looking for artists/designers to help piece these together and we'll make these available to you guys as well
With your support, hopefully we'll get our events even more well publicized and as more sponsors/admins hop on board, we'll be bringing bigger and better events for the SEA region!

dox is working on a video for this at the moment which would help the newer casters have a very easy to manage overlay system which is standardized for all our tournaments.
here are two examples from his demo.
Only thing that should stay is
Top right - SC2sea.com
bottom right - Sponsor of the tourney
The rest is can be customized by the streamer.
Edit: Middle right is just an example, we have to think of a way to make it such that its clear who the tournament sponsors are. Maybe we will switch middle right and bottom center right positions around.
I'll be releasing a showcase/demo/instruction video later today, but the crux of it is that it's simple and efficient enough that anyone can use it, no matter how proficient or technically minded they are. Desperately need sleep, more later.
Sounds pretty good, however it does look a bit crowded. But I will leave that until I do the llayout myself and see how it works out. Should help out a lot though!!!
I am in the process of making a thread offering to create the intermission overlays for people's stream
(Like the one on mine when there isn't a game on)
As there can be more information dumped there as well
Liking the look of that mezza/Dox. Only comment I would have is what have you done to my supply count under the names? Yeah, I need to learn to look at the proper counts in the top right, but still.
Love the idea of consolidating this and having a consistent design over the entirety of the SC2SEA streams though. Great initiative.

It's crowded 'cos Nirvana screenshotted the scenes where I had absolutely everything enabled during the demonstration I was giving him. Should be cleared up when I get around to recording the showcase video. Gotta work on the ACL brackets show first, so hopefully I find time before then.
